I stopped going to shows almost entirely. I used to love going, hell I was playing them for a bit. The elitist atmosphere really ruined it for me unfortunately. I’ll still go for certain bands when I have time. I don’t really fuck with the pit anymore, just come to grab a couple drinks and find a good(safe) spot to hang with a friend or two and enjoy the music and the energy. Going with good friends always helps a ton of anxiety gets you down.

After playing shows for a bit instead of just attending, I realized that the artists are just happy to see you support them, and you’re coming to enjoy the music and the show. Gaining that perspective helped me a lot. If you like the band and what they’re about, go support if you can. It’s that simple. Sorry for the rant homie, just wanted to share what helped me. Bums me out hearing people say they don’t like to do things anymore that they want to take part in.
