Good morning Biff! You are super talented with that bucket. Such grace and finesse. LOL. Seriously, really great job scraping the area without digging too much. And the stump - nicely done. Thanks for taking us along - really enjoyed it. I need a lot more practice with mine. Have a great week!

Thankyou GP! Really means a lot! Your a mighty fine operator yourself! It’s great to see people who can acknowledge this as it’s deffinelty a lot harder than people think.. and a lot harder to have finesse than it looks..to know where your bucket is at all times and to be able to foresee and predict where your cutting edge will be. You almost have to imagine in your mind what’s happening out in front of you because you can’t see it. It’s funny I always loved the fact that I had a bucket level indicator on my tractor but in the last year Iv noticed myself glancing more at the top of the bucket (which is much harder to see and judge) more often than not instead of looking at my bucket level indicator.. I almost see the bucket level indicator as training wheels and once you learn your machine I feel you really don’t need a bucket level indicator anymore except maybe for reference from time to time. I’m glad your enjoying my videos GP and hope some day I can be as big as you! Keep up the amazing videos + Stay safe!

@@BiffsEquipment I am just curious. Did you have to do anything extra to your shed in.order to support your tractor? I have a 12x20 high barn and was considering getting either a bx1880 or the bx2380, similar to yours. I didn't want to add to cost by building a lean to shed just to put a baby tractor in if my shed will work. Mine is on top of ground on cinder blocking. I know I'll have to reinforce under edge of shed where there's very little support. Maybe some 4in cap blocks, staked. Thanks.

Hey thanks Louie! How did your land clearing go? I really enjoy clearing land with my BX and to be honest, that’s how I learned to use my FEL so well.. because the first summer I had it all I did was clear land.. hours and hours of land clearing which gets you really tuned in to the loader, controls, and what to do for certain situations.. once I got passed that first summer I felt like I could do it in my sleep and have only gotten better with it since.. specially after all the driveway jobs Iv done since. I’m glad you enjoy my videos and sorry I’m just seeing your comment now!

This is where a Ratchet Rake would be a great application to remove saplings with their roots.
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Yah those rachet rakes work pretty good, only downside is with such a small tractor catching larger roots it’s either gonna stop the tractor for bend the rachet rake specially if you catch a decent stump. We have a lot of roots and small stumps around here and I use the bucket to dig and pop them up as I go. Maybe it can still be done with a rachet rake but I’d have to try it, maybe some day I’ll get one and do a video

The background noise really isn’t necessary if you have a good video. I’m willing to bet that most of us watching would rather just hear the tractor working rather than listen to what some people might think of as music. Thanks
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, I have done both with and with out music and whenever I don’t put the music in I get less views and people actually tell me they missed hearing the music. A lot of times I’m doing time-lapse videos or fast forwarding certain parts and in doing so you can’t have audio so you actually have to put background music in otherwise there will be no sound what so ever. This video I put background music on the time lapse and when I did the stump I was able to leave the tractor sounds in but just turned the music way down in the background. Everyone likes it a little different so I try to change it up whenever I can.

Are you planning on getting a backhoe someday for your tractor? I found one from a John Deere on craigslist and bought a pto pump kit for it. Made a subframe to put it on my tractor. It is great for stumps. I have a small Kubota B7100. It is a Bradco backhoe, depending on what tractor they put it on they paint it to match. That is why my tractor has a green backhoe on it. I have video of building the subframe but have yet to edit it and put it up. Nice work with the tractor.

Awesome man, sounds like you did a heck of a job making the backhoe work fir your B7100.. is the video uploaded yet I’ll check it out. As for me buying a backhoe.. I was planning to at first but adding a backhoe can cost $5,000-$8,000 and for that kind of money I plan to save up a little more and buy an excavator.. I almost bought one last summer but soemtbjng else popped up so I never bought it but hopefully some day soon I’ll own a nice mini excavator to go with my little Kubota bx.

@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Hey Josh, so my shed is I believe an 18x16, it did me good for many years until I finally out grew it with tools and equipment. The door use to be barely wide enough to fit my tractor and I use to rub the tires on my tractor against the door frame pulling in and out if you check out my older videos.. eventually tho I cut the old door out and widened the door to be an 8’ high by 6’ wide. This helped a lot with being able to get in and out safely with out having much issue. Thanks for watching and I hope to upload more videos soon!

@@BiffsEquipment Looks like you do a lot of grading and back dragging. Wonder if it’s doable with the piranha tooth bar. I am looking to get one too, might pick up the straight bar too, but that brings things to around $500!
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 3 жыл бұрын
@@Nunyabizn3ss how’s it going man. Yah having a toothbar would affect back dragging some specially if your trying to backdrag with just the edge of the bucket but if your just back dragging larger piles of dirt or stone it would work fine still and you could still smooth it with the bottom of your bucket keeping the bottom of the bucket nice and flat.. but you won’t be able to finish grade as well with the edge of the bucket that’s for sure. You should just buy the Piranha toothbar Cuz then you’ll have the teeth when you want it and when you don’t need the teeth you can just remove it.. the factory cutting edge does just fine so I wouldn’t waste your money on their normal cutting edge that they sell.

Digger 838 I run roughly 200obs of rear ballast, along with my tires being loaded.. 200-300lbs is a decent minimum for these machines, anything less and they can become not as productive as you will be lifting up the rear quite often, being un-stable and spinning your tires. Hello. Getting my BX2380 at my new hole on aug 11th move in aug 10th. Fun. Question - do you feel an edge bar or xpanded bar would be needed to protect the edge of bucket. I would say it would really helped the ground cover you have but then I am wondering is an edge really needed to protect the bucket edge? Thanks for all the info thus far
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jason congrats on the new tractor sorry I'm just reading this! I do not have an added cutting edge on my bucket and my cutting edge shows no sign of wear as of right now tho adding the extra cutting edge as an accessory is not a bad idea as it strengthens the lip of the bucket so it cant as easily get bent. The BXPanded bar is also a very nice cutting edge and I actually plan to get one some day as the sharp teeth would be great to have for when I'm clearing land. Thanks for watching.

@@Mark_Nadams ah I see. The bx is a great tractor but it’s limited on power at times but I would say check your hydraulic relief valve and see if it’s even at spec cuz odds are on that older tractor the relief spring has relaxed a bit and now it’s relieving the pressure too soon, they make a pressure gauge and shim kit so owners can check their pressure and bump it back up to spec.. this is what I did as mine was 200psi below spec when I first got my tractor used and now I have the pressure set above spec and it’s twice as capable as it ever was..
