Thank you 🙏- good news I now know the remedy- got a start switch ordered - bad news is my sim in law gave the mower because of this start problem that even the Cabota shop couldn’t cure - hope he doesn’t want it back 😮😅

Sure thing. I think itll work out well for you.

Believe it or not, this gave me an idea. My old B2150 went lights out when I tried to restart it after a stall plowing snow. No electrical. Then electrical came back and every time I hit the starter, boom, out again. I tried the "Starter Trick" you suggested and all was well. Traced it down to the starter wire connector on the starter motor. Sprayed it with some electrical connection cleaner, and now the existing starter switch works as designed. Not sure why it was disrupting the entire electrical, lights and all, but I'll deal with that after the next snowfall. Lots of loose and corroded wires to clean up. THANK YOU!

Glad to hear you got it solved.

I have a G1900 that has similar issues. I thought it was something to do with the machine not recognizing (if you will) that the break is down or applied. I believe I will clean some connections and try your method. It is a great tractor when it starts. That diesel engine runs nice. I am only using it with the plow and to tow yard trailers. I have a deck for it but I need to get some parts because they broke up when the drive shaft came apart. This happened to the previous owners. They gave me the tractor and I took the broken parts off and had to replace the oil pan but other than the starting issues, it works really well. I also have a John Deere 2305 tractor, but I'd like to get the Kubota going for mowing and use the JD for landscaping projects. Thanks for the video!

I've never had that issue with the brake. It may be easier to fix a switch on it. I figure this would work though. That in particular is a safety feature though. This tractor had a deck in such poor condition the previous owner said it had to be replaced and would never be usable. I bent and welded it back into shape and have been mowing with it for about 3 years now.

@@nicksnextproject535 Okay, first of all I realized I spelled brakes wrong for this context. But also, that’s just me wildly speculating. I’m gonna try the switch thing. Thanks!

Nick - nice, elegant solution. The more common solution reported online is to use the Deere starter improvement kit part #AM107421 ($65), which adds a relay at the starter to substitute for your push button. Both your solution and the Deere solution deliver clean 12V to the starter to respond to a problem of lower voltage getting to the starter solenoid through the designed circuit because of slowly degrading safety switches. As someone who remembers using a starter button on farm vehicles in my childhood, I like your solution!

Interesting information. Heres a link to that part for a good price if anyone wants to try the method mentioned by Lil Canada. amzn.to/3Al3PJ5

I installed this starter improvement kit on my G1900. It did not work for me. I'm going to install this starter button.

So it’s kinda difficult to see which wires you splice into for the switch. Are you referring to the small slide on connectors on the selinoid? Does it matter which one you use? Do you have a better picture or wiring diagram?

Just replaced my PTO belts and the unit decided not to fire up after. I can’t even get through flow plugs on without putting a jumper box on my battery. But when I do, I get the click action happening. Also, the tiny gear spindle won’t retract. Any thoughts?

If it was mine, I would probably check the battery connections. I replaced my positive cable from the battery this year as a preventative. It is hard to say. I replaced a starter on a VW diesel only to find it was bad cables. I would relook at everything related to the electrical system that was touched when changing those belts.

@@nicksnextproject535 thank you! I’m going to look more closely at the battery today. Most folks I’ve talked to seem to think that is the issue.

Doesn’t that bypass the safety switches. Wouldn’t a relay in place of your starter switch tripped by the ignition switch line with the interlocks be safer?

Same issue, but what is the original cause? Any idea? My guess low voltage to the starter solenoid due to gold box issues, but not sure. Seems to be worse when it's sat for awhile and battery voltage is low. I've been jumping the two for years, need to go ahead and put a button in as you did. Thanks,

I think i've seen info online about what causes this but I just went ahead and went the simple route. Still working well.

What size wire did you use? #10?

What did you do with the small black wire that runs from the switch to the starter after you installed the starter button?
@nicksnextproject5353 жыл бұрын
I kept the original wiring and spliced into the black and white wire in the video.
