Thanks for posting your videos. Very informative! Just want try to mention in the kindest way I know, what the guys were doing around the post hole digger is VERY dangerous. I have a friend who had some friends using a post hole digger. They were having the same problem. The digger wasn't going down. So one guy did just as your neighbors were doing (tried to use his body weight to make it dig down). The auger grabbed some of his clothing and tore his limbs instantly and killed him. It happened so fast the guy on the tractor and others watching were in shock. They just looked at each other with wide eyed stares, and couldn't comprehend what just happened. When we dig holes with an auger on the back of the tractor, I keep my help at least 6' away from the auger. Again thanks for your videos, you are a helpful young person. I just don't want to see your life destroyed by tragedy.

I dig 3 ft deep post holes w backhoe all the time. It's a mess, but never had to worry about augers, danger, rocks, or investment of yet another impliment.

True that!

Would putting down pressure on the front bucket help with the post hole digger.
@CarolinaEarthWerx Жыл бұрын
No post hole holds 0 pressure to it regardless of loader bucket is up or down. This is where a skid steer with an auger would really help

Your friend in the blue shirt is pretty lax around PTO spinny things. Shake hands with danger. ;) The problem with 3pt hitch is that gravity is the only down pressure. If the screw isn't biting, then it won't dig.

Yeah, I'm looking to get a skid steer eventually. I need down pressure lol

Nice video - I have dug a lot of holes with my BH70 - As an operator you should not allow anyone to stand in the "kill zone" of the backhoe. This is especially true of the smaller Kubota machines whose controls can lead to some jerky movements of the backhoe.

How long did it take you to dig the holes to depth? How many in maybe 30 minutes?

24 inch bucket?

That is a 12” bucket

Must get my eyes checked... looked so wide for some reason...

Could be the camera/camera angle GoPros shoot very wide!! 🤣🤣

Nitpicking, but that bucket is likely the 16"with 4 teeth while the 12" only has 3 teeth.

I need a post hole digger but I've never used one and I'm not feeling good about what I see. Keep trying to use it but maybe move forward slightly as it digs to keep it straighter. Video and post it when you use it again.

They have 0 down pressure so if your soil isn’t really soft and easy then this is the issue you’ll run into. No way around it.

I bet hand driving a spud in that hole to loosen it up would've done the trick

It looked like from here the auger was spinning the wrong way. But my view isn't that good.
