Morning Ben. Thanks for another look into your fall day. I appreciate the emphases you placed on the value of taking advantage of a good mentor. I had several in my life while growing up, and to this day I appreciate talking and listening to those older than myself. So many kids today miss out on the value of the greater generation ever. Thanks for bringing us along.

Mike has several Cows and Sheep so he feeds a lot of his hay, but still sells some. I’d say over his lifetime he has baled more hay then just about anyone in our county.

Ben, Another beautiful day in the sunshine, we had a large New Idea Manure spreader and Lime spreader. Both were used heavy for 25 yrs and were in good working order when we sold them. Nice looking bales🙏🪵👍🏼🇺🇸

How's she goin'? To me a bailer is a marvelous machine. All it's doing really is collecting hay, but it's impressive to see it drive over the field and pick up all the downed hay and then spit out a nice big round bail!! Thanks for sharing and take care!!!

that makes a pretty roll of hay, i seen a new idea 484 at the auction last week in good shape bring $750. ive seem them same balers kinda worn and beat up bring $400. well worth the money!

I’ve had my 483 since 04 or 05 and I had a 484 as well for a year or 2. I like them really good in 1st cut hay but in short 2nd cut they are a little difficult at times. Appreciate you watching.

Still use a New Idea 5209 discbine. What do you think about the soft core bales?

They have their place I guess. Goat and sheep farmers like them because the bales are easier for the animal to eat. Appreciate you watching!

I'm going to look at a Kubota M6800 tomorrow with 1800 hours. I've run other people's tractors for them and myself, but never bought and owned one. Do you have any advice?

Just check over everything you can think of, fluids, make sure the pto and lift all work correctly. Check tie rod ends. With only 1800 hours on a M6800 unless it’s been abused it should still be a good tractor. Hope it works out for you!

@@khtractors it actually has 2000. I remembered wrong. It seems solid. Everything works. Tie rods aren't loose. It has a skid steer quick attach adapter on the loader. The owner had to do the clutch, and while it was split they went through the transmission, and replaced some gears that were worn from it being shifted from forward to reverse while moving too quickly. He has receipts. They also plumbed in the third function on the loader, and filled the tires with beet juice. I didn't bring money with me because I was by myself, and while out alone I once bought a pretty powerstroke that was pretty clapped out. I'm going to go back for it in a couple days. I'm excited to get it home and change all fluids and filters, and get to work with it on the new leased place.

Looks like that 6060 has no problem whatsoever working hay.Is the width a problem shipping bales?10ft instead of 8ft?

Yes it makes them more difficult to haul. I’ve seen him stand them on their end then put a row on top laying down. Also here lately he has been loading them like logs using forks, that’s a quick simple way to load and strap them. This M6800 has about 4500 hrs now. Thanks for watching!

Would a 35 hp tractor run a New Idea 4845?

Not good. When they get full and start condensing the hay they pull hp. I did have a 484 which is an older version and it had a low range gear box that took less hp. Thanks for watching
