Kubota RTV 1100 Review | Snow Removal Equipment | Kubota Front Snowblower Attachment

The Kubota RTV1100 utility vehicle is an efficient and powerful tool to have on hand. The Kubota RTV 900 utility vehicle or the Kubota RTV 500 utility vehicle are two smaller Kubota UTVs. This RTV 1100 has been created exclusively for use on construction sites, and it comes with a Kubota engine that was developed and manufactured in-house. It's a D1105-E3-UV 4 stroke diesel with a 24.8 horsepower output.
The engine has a displacement of 1.1 liters and is powered by three cylinders. This engine runs on diesel, with a maximum capacity of 30 liters in the fuel tank (almost 8 gallons). You can choose between a 2WD or 4WD chassis for the engine. A variable hydrostatic transmission with three gear ranges, low, medium, and high, transfers power from the engine to the wheels.
Kubota is one of the most well-known UTV brands in the country. Even though the design is lightweight, it is yet tough enough to handle your clearing duties. You'll get a cleaner scraping and nearly no false trips thanks to the trip edge functionality. This is a traditional option that will allow you to clear your space without compromising your steadiness, maneuverability, or sight.
The Kubota RTV 1100 is an excellent plowing machine. In the comfort of a cab, it can move a lot of snow. It is not, however, a deep snow machine. If you get 8" or more of snow on a regular basis, you'll need a blower rather than a blade. On pavement, I think jobsite tires are fantastic, but for gravel driving, ATV tires offer more traction. We rarely experienced issues with a lack of weight in my experience. However, when there was a lot of snow, I always had a spreader in the back. The machine's width is the most significant impediment. There is a learning curve with the factory hydraulic/electric plow.
On a heavy machine like an RTV, I would not use a light weight winch actuated plow. Kubota plows are constructed tough and can withstand a lot of abuse. The one thing about the RTV’s throttle is that it is counterintuitive. When going up hill, the natural response is to give it more throttle. With the RTV, you want to apply less throttle. The RTV is a great tool to have on a farm or any property, especially as a compliment to a tractor. I pulled some heavy drags up steep hills in Virginia without issue when I had one.

Thanks for the review, I think a tractor with rear inverted blower is still the route I'll stick with. I do like the fact this has a 40km/h road speed, the Kubota l6060 and the John Deere 4052r or 4066r has right around 29/30 km/h road speed. The tractors are way more $$$ right around $70k. Thanks for the video. How does the snowblower do at the end of the driveways where the curb is.? Does it float over it or do you have to lift the blower up and then set it back down at the end? For the heavy snows does it help going through the snow slower so it doesn’t push a pile next to the garage?

Is it easy to swap out to a blade? If so , wouldn’t that be your solution to wet snow?

I don't have a blade for the front. It would not take long to trade out and that would fix the wet slushy snow issue. I'm considering getting a sweeper to use for lighter snow falls that would also help with wet snow. Thank you for watching.

I drove one of these for 5 years at my job. I had a kubota plow on the front and the kubota spreader in the bed. I also had difficulty getting up the hills. Great machine otherwise.

How do you find the unit drives through snow that hasn’t been cleared by the city on roads yet? I’m thinking about getting one of these for snow removal this season, and want to be able to drive it from house to house in areas where I have good route density, but don’t want it to be a painstakingly slow experience when I need it to go through uncleared snow on the roads. Any insight is appreciated!

Going through snow is not a problem at all. The machine is very heavy and gets good traction. The biggest problem with it is hills. Even the slightest incline it will start to slow down. On steep hills you will go from 25mph on flat ground to 12-14mph. Even though 12mph is decent it feels incredibly slow when you drop from 25mph.

@@fullaffectfitness5070 our biggest snow I used it in was 16in. Had no problem driving but Had to go really slow with the snowblower. It does not have near the snowblower power of a tractor. The snowblower works good but the throwing distance drops pretty significantly unless you slow way down in heavy snows.

Thank you for watching. I'm located in Minnesota. It is street legal as long as you get all the appropriate light kits put on. I send the Kubota on a route that currently has roughly 37 properties with just one person.

I like this setup because we can have 2 people ride in it and I use it to puts around at our cabin in the summer. Finding a tractor with similar road speed also gets to be pretty expensive. A tractor will have a lot more power and will be more reliable in the long run.

Yes I definitely would. I am weighing my options to add a second one next season or try a tractor with a inverted snowblower. It is really nice to pull up to a driveway and start clearing snow without getting out and unloading a tractor first. Hopefully we get some snow tomorrow. I'm planning on sending a camera guy with the RTV to record part of his route.

The first year I did not have the plow. I sent one guy out in the kubota. He cleared 33 properties by himself shoveling side sidewalks. It took him on average about 10 hours. The second year we added the plow and 4 properties. He cleared 37 properties by himself in 8 hours on average. Not having to use a snowblower for the snow infront of the garage is what made the difference.
