Oh yes. Nio Teas got me interested in Kukicha through their green tea sampler. One of my favorites now (that and the nuruki shincha). I highly recommend you all check it out, the teas at Nio teas are amazing!

I have no IDEA with the tea I purchased in Hakone last week during our visit to the sulfur black egg in the mountain. It looks like kukicha, it has a very sweet aroma but tastes bitter and lots of stem.

I was hoping to see how kukicha is created. Once the stems are separated, as in the video, are they further processed in the same way as sencha?
