I had a lot of old pipes and rebar to cut up and from what I read kzbin.infoUgkxPDBfLu68o58Aw85O_J-zIFfjJARBhp-3 this would be the tool for the job. Since I had never used one, I watched a couple of youtube videos and I'm so glad I did. Some really good safety tips, which I followed, and this tool did a splendid job. One good thing to know is the weight of the tool puts just about the right amount of pressure on the metal I was cutting, so I didn't have to use a lot of pressure, which is more likely to jam the tool. It made fast work of my job.

I consider myself an expert working on this type of polisher, its rotation speed is more than 10,000 rpm, I always operate it with only one hand, something that I do not recommend if you do not have much strength in your hand and dexterity to avoid that if a disc breaks, you will not be cause injuries, years ago I saw a wood cutting disc for that type of machine, I had an employee who always forbade him from using the machine even if it was with a polishing disc, and even less with a metal cutting disc, one day he told me that I had bought one of those machines, a disc for cutting wood. Concerned, I told him not to use that disc in a machine that rotates at that speed. He responded that he also had a lot of strength in his hand since he had an 8 dan black belt in karate. and contact fighting, the result of not listening to me was four fingers cut to the bone, multiple surgeries for five years, he still hasn't recovered his grip with that hand well, he lost his full contact career, now I'm fine a video from an ignorant person who Explains how to cut off fingers, face and possibly death all for likes?
@lmeza19839 ай бұрын
What a horrible story, dudes disrespect tools and machines constantly specially the not using a saw blade in an angle grinder, these work by friction not the sharped teeth so they will get stuck to the material and blow up or as in your experience you can loose control of the tool... I am very cautious when using power tools the moment the cut is not smooth or gets noisy I stop immediately and I've seen guys trying to do it faster or applying more pressure that is just not risky but wears off the tool faster as well, the other day I was drill a hole in a wooden frame attached to a concrete wall and I was having a hard time probably the drill bit was blunt already and I thought is just a little more I will get rid of the drill bit after this and somehow it stuck to the wood and instead of spinning the drill began to spin while I was holding it for just 1 second, the result: it twisted my forearm and it hurted bad for 1 whole day it wasn't worse just because the trigger was released immediately but if you use a switch and can't stop the tool 💀
@writerNBАй бұрын
so in short... 1. angle grinders are ONLY for polishing metal (or grinding off rough edges of metal) and 2. wood rotary saws operate at lower RPM for safety reasons (eg the kind of thick material wood is, is guaranteed to send darts of wood at your face and eyes at higher rpms) thanks: as an engineer, i can safely conclude you just posted the most important information i've ever read on the internet. x

Wood cutting disks are usually for circular saw usage, table saws or cutting off saws, but definitely not for angle grinders. Why didn't you draw the outer circle when drawing the middle circle on the iron sheet? To draw the outer circle, do you have to fix the iron sheet on the milling machine and then draw a line around it?!
@RandallHirt8 ай бұрын
The way he did it, accomplished 2 details: 1.) That the outer disc is more certainly equal distant to the center of the circle, thereby will be more reliable & smooth cutting. 2.) By marking the second circle the way he did, also shortens the length of the blade, taking out a lot of flimsiness, play, or any possible wobble.

A lathe to get it perfect, a mill to perfectly grind in the teeth at the perfect angles, and specific steel quality to fashion the blade… something that would cut or properly resist the rotations and stresses of cutting and the temperatures it generates. What you saw here… probably works, in the same way my dad built a shed. It leaned, it blew over every winter, and the walls didnt match.

DO NOT DO THIS! you will eventually get kickback or forward. This is dumb af

No you won't, if safety and care is taken. Similar things, home made by Techs and Craftsman, are all over all kinds of jobsites. No more or less safe than anything I've ever seen, based on history.

And they are 1000s of injuries each year from these types of modifications. Ever wonder why there isn't a wood blade or chainsaw blade made for an angle grinder? It's because it's super dangerous

I truly enjoyed this video... very good.. ideas are created everyday.. you don't see people taking the time to sit and think of ideas like this.. well done I will definitely remember this idea incase I'm in a tight spot and can't buy a cutter blade.. and I enjoyed you turning it to a sawblade... that's even cooler.. thank you

Not a good idea brother. You use the incorrect material and it could mean very serious injury. There are hacks that are useful but when it comes to power tools.....don't compromise safety. You will pay dearly. Professional discs are made out of materials suited for the job and are also balanced.
