Thanks for the review. I've been struggling to find an affordable solution for my laptop without getting into the ubiquiti bullet (which one btw ?) + omni antenna + coax cable + router (which one btw ?) + PoE. After an unsuccessful attempt with an Alfa kit (the whole thing was grilled before I set it up) I was about to give up. I'm going to give a try to this Kuma thing now !

Good luck, hope the Kuma works well for you.

Do you always need a clear line of site to work?
@gpproductions68734 жыл бұрын
Hi, I would say yes it would be best to have a clear line of sight. However, having said that, it also depends on distance from the wifi router, how strong the wifi signal is from the router and what type of obstruction there is. For example, a couple of weeks ago, I was getting a good signal from a hotel hotspot, then the signal stopped when a coach parked up between myself and the hotel. I hope that helps...

GP PRODUCTIONS Thanks I’m having problems on a site picking up the Wi-fi from the clubhouse, so I parked outside it and was able to get the signal but even though I have the password and login I still couldn’t get connected.

Hi fella , can I connect my Xbox 1 to it with the usb ?

how high was it in the air
@gpproductions68736 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, I would say about 3.5 metres high. However, I have used the unit in the cabin to good effect and also when I use it in my Landrover I just put it up on the top of a seat to good effect.

Thanks for the review, the input is offset on the bottom to stop the USB connection problems. Simply use the input on the end and the cable will be 100% secure. I hope this helps

Hi Paul, Thank you for your comment. This is an amazing bit of kit, so easy to install and use, I would be lost without it. The cable connection is the only real niggle I have. I think a cable clamp like those used for 13amp plugs would be a helpful option for those who want a permanent connection and not used if the cable is to be connected and disconnected on a regular basis. Regards Gary

Sorry I don't know. I would suggest that you write to the manufactures, I found them to be very helpful when I had a query about the product.Good luck

Sorry I don't know. Try emailing the manufactures, they are very helpful and reply to enquiries quite quickly.

Great video thanks. I'm now going to buy one of these kits. As steve286111 says, there is a video at kzbin.info/www/bejne/oarYdJmborKKppY which shows how the cable should be routed. However, you could place a cable tie around the cable where the cable enters the compartment. That will stop it pulling out. :)

Read the instructions. That's not how you fit the cable into the antenna. Brilliant piece of kit.

Thank you for your comment. It has been quite some time since I bought the Kuma and I don't recall having any instructions with the unit. In fact it was necessary for me to call the manufacturer for some assistance in setting mine up originally and they were very helpful. I have now added a link to the down load section of the Kuma website where the latest instructions can be obtained.We have just spent three months cruising the French inland waterways where the Kuma was brilliant at obtaining WIFI hotspots.
