Well some behaviour are similar because of living environment and system. Like avoiding Outside Dirt part, which is usually practiced in Asian region because it's normally quite Dusty & Muddy outside condition in Asia, plus a lot of germ issues. Applies also on why Asian cover Remote in plastic or don't peel plastic from appliances (the dust in air scratches the surface quite quickly, making even new products look dull and old within weeks of purchase). We also don't much believe in Dishwasher because generally Asian food are more oily than American food (not Butter oily, but other Oils oily), which is usually hard for most dishwasher to clean (that's why some companies are making exclusive system for Asian usage). As for the Bamboo one, i don't think there is any superstition regarding it in India (though i might be wrong). Similarly, Indians are not crazy for Soy Sauce. Difference in Dinner timing is probably because Sunset is usually early in America (because of colder climate) compared to Asia countries. Plus, Asian don't usually indulge in midnight snacks that much (if i am right), unless it's a Student who is focused on studying late into the night.

As a Singaporean, I noticed that a lot these practices/habits are equally shared between all of the Asians races. Doesn't matter what race you are, most of things that we do stem from respect. Respect of the stuffs u have at home, respect of the food we have and respect for the people around u etc. Most of us didn't grow up with money so it was ingrained in us to be thankful n mindful of things we have. The last vid ,Logesh actually said McDonald were a luxury item back home. It might not be the case now but when I was growing up, kids actually dream of eating fast food. Back in the 80s n 90s, eating McD were bragging rights.

True, not just Mc Donald, KFC, A&W, Starbucks, etc. All fast food were expensive. I even had burger during college time and KFC's fried chicken when my friend treated me. I had Delifrance at Sogo in 1994, a year after working as a teacher. Yes, those western foods are luxury in the 90's. Luckily I am not a fan of fast foodd because local foods are much tastier and healthier to my palate.

@rachel hanson. The Americans are known to do things opposite to their former imperialist. A continuation of their rebellion against mother England, which they ran away from for independence. When the Englishmen drive on the right, Americans on the left (i'd rather be on the right side, not the wrong side.) Americans also have less than half the energy as the Englishmen -- Englishmen charge with 240 volts, Americans only 110. Americans will eventually turn to walk on their hands, just kidding okay!

And when some of them would even jump around the bed with shoes on i can actually feel a migraine coming on. Also, we've had our car for 6 years now and the sun visor is still wrapped in its original plastic so, though we are able to use the sun visor, we still haven't practically used the mirror that goes with it and this fact does not even bother us that much.

It's amazing how both of you can adjust and accommodate one another all these years amid the different culture and ways of doing daily stuffs. I like the one about plastic wraps, which is so true about Malaysians. Do you notice that in Malaysia, some car owners still have plastic wraps on the car seats (front and back) - wraps that were there since the cars were bought a couple of years ago? Looks like trying to keep things so that might last "forever" takes priority over aesthetics and comfort in Malaysia. I also like the part about soy sauce which I am truly guilty of also. I thought I was the weird guy who is fixated with having many different kinds of soy sauce. Apparently, you have shown me that I am just being a typical Malaysian ... haha...

My dad and his 8 siblings once held a family days for all of us, not just 9 of them. Nooooo.. They invites sibling for their in-law, siblings for in-law parents because they want to celebrate their mothers 70th birthday along with her 11 other siblings. I was receptionists at the time and my god, I never knew i had chinese and indians aunts and uncles as well. We held the grand family day at one of the wedding hall at Muar that can fit around 500+ in one sitting and its could not fit all of the guests since we all also invite our close friends as well. We also get a small books that tell the history of all my grandparents, its like encyclopedia for our family. Overall, its fun knowing that my families stay connected with all of our distants relatives all those years. It make me realize that although some of them are different races, religions and colour, we can still be one big family unless you're rasict of course.

You know guys, getting into an interracial relationship can be a bit challenging in the start and might need some effort to getting used to, but as they say - "Variety is the Spice of Life". And even a Brit and an American living together can surely be challenging, and not just with Asians. But it's the gelling process that really matters and the balanced mix of East and West is what makes it soo beautiful and perfect in the end. But throughout one should never be intolerant, different or looking down on the other just because they might be following another set of rules. But instead, everything should be seen through the eyes of love, unity and oneness and everything else should revolve around that. Wish you both a strong, healthy and a fulfilling happy married life throughout.

My family do not get our remote control wrapped up hahaha; but we DO keep the wrappers that already came with the appliance as long as possible 🤣 The slippers and the soy sauce thing is on point... but we are trying to limit our obsession of soy sauce at the moment hahaha... (Off topic tip: When you have your planters ready, do remember to keep your washed rice water overnight and then use them as "fertilizer water" the next day. That will save you tons of fertilizer expenses and your plants will be happy - especially teaming up with natural sun)

My family used to wrap remote as well, there's quite a few reasons to it actually: 1. for us, TVs are expensive electronics and remotes are kinda non replaceable. So we want to ensure the remote last as long as possible. Wouldn't want to buy a new TV just because the remote broke. Maybe electronics in the US is cheap? 2. kinda related to the first point, we also want to ensure the lettering on those rubber buttons to last as long as possible. 3. hygiene, you know how oils and grease from our fingers, sweats and dead skin cells, no to mention dusts tends to get under and around those buttons. ewww! You can always replace the wrapper with a new one but not the remote right?

We are very loud. We yell over the phone, but normally walk away to use it. Wrapping appliances in plastic is rare, but some do it. Nice vid. And beautiful marriage. As a Malaysian who has lived in Singapore and America, agree with some parts but not all 1. Am not aware of any superstition with planting bamboo at home but it’s a pain to clean up the fallen leaves 2. Phone conversation isn’t true, seen many people carrying out loud conversations/playing videos from phones publicly in Singapore without using their earphones, especially with older folks/non-locals who’re from a certain Asian country Wrt washing rice/wrapping plastic around remotes, you’ll be surprised foods sold in some Asian supermarkets may not be as clean as those bought in America/Singapore, so we’ve to wash them thoroughly. My family has stopped our habit of wrapping plastics round remotes because you can get a replacement so much easier than when I was growing up. But we do try to keep our stuff new for as long as possible 😂 but I noticed this applies to our personal belongings usually. My Asian tenants didn’t care for my apartment the way I did when I was living in it, and there’s a tendency not to care for common/public facilities in the Asian countries I live in.

Based on our family situation here in the Philippines. That remote control - My mother was obsessed with that cover lol hahaha, it's like protection for the remote. Washing rice - You forgot the Asian Ancient Measurement, the Finger. Bidet - Besides Bidet we have a thing called "Tabo" Soy sauce - Absolutely Agree! Sometimes we combined soy sauce with vinegar, lemon, calamansi, tomato, onion, etc. The plastic wrap on appliances - I remember my new computer Acer more than 10 years ago, my mom wouldn't let me take it off lol hahaha. Handwashing - After putting in a washing liquid, I washed it two or three times to make it clean. Asian event sizes - There's no way to disagree with this, hahaha, I absolutely agree! I still remember my Debut years ago, even some Debuts of my classmates, especially the female ones. (I'm not a female lol) Dinner time - Breakfast 6am-10am, Lunch 11am-2pm, Dinner 6pm-10pm Slippers - That American Slippers were too expensive to us here in the Philippines and can only be used at home. Compared to the Asian slippers, it's cheap and multi-purpose, it can be used whether going outside or inside.
