Hello everyone! This is my last video from Jolo! And it was a deeper topic than my last videos but I'm never afraid of hitting the deep topics! All I have to request... is please correct me if I've made a mistake in some of the historical stuff I've said. I've done a LOT of research including speaking to a historian about this, but I might still be wrong or misunderstand! And yes there is a lot I have left out! Only human! BUT - please no political comments as stated in the video. I didn't touch certain topics as it is not my place to.

Fascinating! More stories need to be told about this part of the country. As a child who lived in southern Mindanao, I remembered an old grave by the beach surrounded with mature, tall frangipani trees ( with yellow and pinkish red flowers). Worn out engraving that bordered the grave showed the person buried was a “haji” - one who had made a pilgrimage to Mecca. Yet, none of the locals knew anything about him. Through the years, I’ve wondered about the man buried there. Thank you.

@@LuisCruz-ne5wo , "Malaysia has been funding instability in the south..."? It was only an accusation without proof. In fact it was Malaysia who facilitated or brokered the peace talk between Manila Government and the rebel groups twice. Firstly between Manila and MNLF that led to the establishment of ARMM (Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao) and it was a success. Nur Misuari, the MNLF leader was appointed as Governor. But according to the agreement he could only be the governor for 1 term, after that there should be election for the governor. But Nur Misuari wanted to be the governor forever without any election and revolted against Manila. The Philippines army managed to defeat him but he escaped to Sabah. While in hiding in Sabah, Malaysian authority managed to arrest him and extradite him to Manila where he was put on house arrest. While he was freed on bail, he managed to escape to the south to his old place and people. That was why he was angry with Malaysia and made all sort of accusation to tarnish bad images on Malaysia. Malaysia facilitated and brokered peace talk for a second time, this time with MILF and was also a success with the establishment of BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao) and now peace in restored in the south. The peace was broken by Abu Sayaf group but was defeated by the Philippines Armed Forces. Congratulations PAF.

Hello Kumander Daot, I want to express my gratitude for bringing attention to the beauty and history of Sulu land. I am a third-generation Taosug born in Sabah, Malaysia. Over the years, the media has often portrayed the Sulu people in a negative light, labeling them as aggressive and associated with terror groups. However, through the stories passed down by my late uncle, I have come to understand the circumstances that led to their departure from the land. My parents left Sulu in 1973 and have not been able to return since, as they still carry the emotional burden of the traumatic events they faced. Despite this, they hold a deep yearning for their homeland. I share this sentiment and hope to one day visit the motherland to reconnect with our family roots, delve into the rich history and culture, and possibly even reunite with long-lost relatives. Insyallah . As my Dad always says “ayaw puhun “. Love from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 ❤

Most muslim here like to visit places and also mosque like the one in this video cuz same as me i would like to visit various mosque. I have alot of philipines friends too but most of em are christians. We have no problem talking to each other. And ofcourse learn some tagalog. sanaoll! I believe as well that south Philipines also have beautiful beaches same as Sabah and oil rich with petroleum that havent discover yet. Stop claiming. we have to move on. If not we already claim over southern thai because that land until Kra is own by the Sultan of Kedah and we know if we claim Thailand won't ever gave the land and Siam rather to shed their blood. Think about the sake of the people. Establish good relation, promote place for tourist can visit. I want to visit Mindanao too. Go visit that mosque and other historical places and bring alot of people come visit southern philipines. Let's hope things get alot better in the future. Start with bismillah, end with alhamdulillah. amin ya rabbalalamin.

This video caught my attention recently, and I find it fascinating that efforts are underway to reconstruct the Sulu Sultanate Palace. Before being divided into the contemporary nations of Southeast Asia, this region-which runs from the northern Malay Peninsula to the southern Philippines-was ruled by a number of Malays sultanate kingdoms. The colonial powers replaced several of these kingdoms with the current ones, causing them to disappear. There are still very few of them, mostly in Malaysia and Brunei, where they have survived and developed into constitutional monarchies. The rest is history, and these historical facts concerning their countries' previous conditions must be taught to future generations.

Any discussions about Sulu and Mindanao viz the Phils should not begin with the declaration that the Sulus are Muslims, that is divisive, rather it should start with the recognition that we belong to the same race, the same color, same origin, that differences in religion and geographical boundaries occurred only with the coming of colonialism and imperialism . It is heartening to note that Maranaos now mix freely with all kinds of Fils, even reaching as far as Baguio and Vigan .
