Thanks bro. I am also tanjore Marathi person born and brought up in Chennai. I never knew that this recipe existed. We eat only South Indian food at home. We know Tamizh better than Marathi. It's almost an year since u posted this..but tried this only today..came out perfectly ..as I'm counting calories these days..I thought of having only one idli as d recipe has potatoes n moong dal..but 3 idli epdi saptene therilla.. obviously I dont even remember how much kadappa I had for those 3 idlis..just yum!!...I can blindly follow u for authentic recipes..❤️❤️..

Mr Rakesh, I have become your absolute fan , for the dishes and the passion with which you cook and the interest with which you go/narrate the history of the dish. Makes the dish more interesting and yummy. I have tried out this kadappa and it came out fantastic. Tried two variation in steps. soft fried potato (for son's sake) before adding . Added one green chilli to grind and the rest direct. Thanks so much for this dish

Dears,Those days in Kumbakonam in Venkatalodge, Mangalambikavilas,Jayalakshmivilas kadappa using brinjal was served for idli and dosai.It was also served in.Mayavaram kaliakudi and in Chidambaram also. One more thing gingelly oil was served in injection bottles

My parents were running a hotel in Angarai (Trichy). On every wednesday and Sundays people will come to have this kadppa with idli. Sometimes that place will be filled with heads, even some will be waiting out. Before morning 8 shop will be closed. I'm even remembering some mamas having their 2 idlis with a serving bucket full of kadappa.

There is a small hotel run by a family called venkatesa bhavan in Srirangam. They serve Kadapa in Thursday or Wednesday I forgot the day . When I come back from school around 330-4 there would be a line for their kadappa. You bought those memories back.
