Thank you, I've used a core one time and it turned out OK, but I was trying not to let the core drop. Please share your videos here and the FB group where I originally saw your post. I've been braiding on and off for 2 years. I often forget simple things. This really helps.

I'm glad this was helpful for you. I'm not sure what FB group you're referencing, but please feel free to share this video on Facebook and any place else. It really helps my channel when people share the video, like and subscribe. Happy braiding! -Rebecca- :)

I've never tried this technique before, but inherited a wheel from a fellow beader when she was getting rid of supplies. So, I may try this out. Thanks.

Try starting with size 8/0 seed beads on size 18 Superlon. It's easier to learn on. We have free "Kumihimo Starter Guide" PDF on our website, you're welcome to download. Here's the link: designandadorn.com/products/kumihimo-starter-guide

Thanks Rebecca… my technique is similar for the first Top Right down. Where I differ is that I let that core ride on top of my left hand. When I complete the first move instead of taking the bead from bottom left up I like to rotate the disk 180 degrees then do another Top Right down. There are three advantages- 1) I don’t need to physically move the core cord as I move the disk itself - moving the disk will carry the core with my thumb, 2) when I am dropping beads from Top Right down I typically place my left hand thumb on the left cord for a secure move and place the bead into the center, and 3) when placing that bead into the center I am applying the same type tension I do on both sides so it feels like a similar “fit” instead of fiddling with moving that left side bead up into the center. I hope this makes sense and yes I over think everything! Thanks always. 😊
