"If you'd said wushu to me at the time, I would probably assume that you were sneezing..." Epic x)

It's like Sensei Bruce Lee said, I fear not the man who knows ten thousand kicks, but rather, the man who has practiced one kick ten thousand times." Inspiration does come from within and when you look elsewhere or compare yourself to someone or something, you set yourself up for failure. Oss

I only want to correct you by saying you shouldn't use sensei, instead say shifu which is chinese for master since wushu is from china and not japan
@sbatorie7 жыл бұрын
and I totally agree with your statement about bruce lee's quote.
@NightSkyIsATimeMachine6 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything Ricardo said as well.. except, upon reading it, I totally had to change the word 'sensei' to 'MASTER'.. bc Bruce Lee was certainly at master level, and if not GRANDmaster level!!

@@sbatorie Since we're being nitpicky, I'd like to also correct you by saying, since Bruce Lee grew up in Hong Kong and trained with Yip Man, then his first language would have been Cantonese. So in Cantonese we say Si Fu, the Mandarin pronunciation would be like Shie Fu, that e sound is small, but it is there.

To say wushu = kung fu is going really far at simplification.
@mirrorinsideout Жыл бұрын
Agreed, my understanding is wushu is more of a state standardized simplified version out of the roots of gongfu... Far more focus on aesthetic performance compared to traditional gongfu
