Tai Lung is the type of villain that has more chance of redemption than any other villain we see throughout the movies. If only he would team up with Po and the furious five, he'd be a great and powerful ally. Maybe he used his time in the spirit realm to rethink about his life.

I say no to the team up. This is the chance for Tai-Lung to figure out what he wants. Everything he did was for Shifu but now he can get a chance to have his own life away from kung-fu.

Tai Lung is one example of a sympathetic villain that you can understand his goal/desire. All he wanted to make Shifu be proud of him and did everything he could be the Dragon Warrior. Hopefully there's a chance of him to redeemed himself and change his actions. Such a tragic villain.

Tai Lung is the only villain in this series I can see having a redemption arc. In fact, I wish the team at DreamWorks would release a short film about Tai Lung's early years, his time with Shifu and Oogway, and what was he like before turned to the dark side. I do hope they bring him back because he's one of my favorite characters from the Kung Fu Panda series.

By looking at the new trailer, I really hope most of the character development will go to tai lung, because not only do do I feel like Po’s character doesnt need much development after what he already learned which can feel like a 3rd rehash of the same lesson. But also cause Tai lungs is such a complex and broken character that still has a lot of potential and also was the first antagonist, so most of the development should go to the character who was the first antagonist instead of po or a newer character

YES TAI LUNG DESERVES A REDEMPTION ARC!!!, out of every single villain he was the most justified. shen was paranoid and reckless for pretty much no reason and wanted to conquer china, kai was just greedy simple as that, Tai lung just wanted what was rightfully his, he trained his whole life to make his father proud and live a destiny that wasnt his, if anyone in DreamWorks deserves a second chance it is 100% Tai lung.

Another in his place, offended after the refusal, would have left silently, but did not go to destroy the village with innocent residents !!! In the final, he got what he deserved from Po. Tai Lung will know next time how not to recognize the superiority of others. With his selfish passion, he forced others to do what they did not want. And he wants everyone to obey and bow to him? If Tai Lung really thought he everyone would bow down to him, he's even dumber than he looks. If he was told that he will not get what he wants, it means that it will be so. Different stories can lead to similar conclusions. I agree with a Tai Lung redemption ark, but it would be pretty unfair to Tigress. She has been wishing for Shifu's love, which Tai Lung had and thrown away, ever since she was a cub.

@@capslock956 Tigress: both of them are felines who were orphans raised by Shifu. Trained in the art of kung fu under their surrogate father, they were physically powerful and desired his praise. They sought this through becoming the Dragon Warrior and were envious when they were passed over for Po. However, Tigress is more honorable, which made her worthy enough that Oogway to have chosen her if not for Po appearing, and compassionate, as she appeared to be remorseful for how she treated Po upon learning of his low self-worth. Tigress receives a lesson in humility when she and the rest of the Five are defeated by Tai Lung. However, Tai Lung is an example of what both Po and Tigress would've become if Po was raised under Shifu's way of teaching about the Dragon Warrior and was never hooked to kindness, humility and care and if Tigress never experienced humility after she was defeated by Tai Lung as well as been overly praised by Shifu as Tai Lung had been.

Okay so what he attacked an entire village fill on innocent people and possibly killed some people in a fit of rage and he never once felt remorse for causing destruction in the valley of pace and possibly taking life and he killed 1000 rhino guards by throwing a bombrope that blasted them off the ledge where the prison was kept and he choked Master Shiftu to death even after he apologised to him and even after he got the scroll he still tricked to kill Po only to end up being killed by Po himself with the Wuxi finger hold and and no Tai Lung redemption arc will not happen the chameleon will shapeshift into Tai Lung Lord Shen and General Kai or Tai Lung will team up with Lord Shen and General Kai and the chameleon and that is it there is no reedemption for Tai Lung

Spoiler: tai lung gets a redemption as Po was able to use the Ying Yang staff to bring them back to the spirit realm along with the new villain.. I mean all of the masters in the spirit realm team up to defeat the chameleon. So yes he got a redemption. The words he said was “maybe oogway wad right about you you aren’t completely useless after all.” Minutes later everyone bows and respects po meanwhile po is using the moves to open the portal to the spirit realm. Tai Lung says “see you on the other side, Dragon Warrior!.” Everything here is not clickbait if u don’t want spoilers do not read!

Now I don't know if you've watched lego ninjago but (spoiler alert) there was a villain called morro and he has a incredibly similar story to tai lung, So similar that when he was defeated he was then later resurrected by another villain, only for him to redeem himself for everything he's done wrong, so it's definitely possible that they could do the same thing with Tai lung!

Tai Lung was a child/son who just wanted to make his father proud. He never exactly chose a destiny of his own. If brought back he could have a chance at redemption and create his own story. Tai Lung was broken and he needs to be able to go on the path of healing once and for all. If this were to happen, how cool would it be if there was a scene where he would volunteer to help the citizens of the Valley of Peace without question, whether that would be to repair the damage done to the valley by this new villain (should it happen), or by him doing everyday, humble tasks? If Hawk did that in Season 4 of Cobra Kai despite the terrible things he had done before in Season 2 and 3 of that show, then it wouldn't be stupid to have such a scene play out in my eyes. :)

I believe that tai lung’s is great character and also a deep one at that. Tai lung’s a character who work to the bone in order win his father only to be crushed by a destiny that wasn’t meant for him. For this reason I hope that tai lung gets a redemption in order for him to have a conclusion that tai lung deserves. I agree that it would be epic for po and the furious five team up tai lung because in a lot of ways despite everything that has happened, tai lung, po, and furious five are still family of shifu. I can’t wait for what’s in store for king fu panda 4.

Po attempted to negotiate with Shen, and Shen chose to accept his fate as the cannon fell. So if there any chance Shen could return, then maybe he could be redeemed too. But I do agree that Tai Lung has the best chance for redemption. You even see a hint of his love when Shifu apologized.

And I think he still had love for his parents because their reaction to his atrocities still haunted him however many years later (a sentence that also holds true for Tai Lung). While he may seem less tragic than Tai Lung, I think it's still tragic.

I think this idea could really work if executed properly. I mean in the last movie we find out Oogway used to be a very violent and ambitious man like Tai Lung himself setting a president for character redemptions. Tai Lung could've definitely thought through his actions during his time in the Sprit realm and could've even made amends with Oogway, considering they were both their for a considerable amount of time.

Agree!!! Even though Tai Lung was portrayed as the ideal foil of Po, it was his desire to be the better version of himself that kept him going. Becoming stronger and stronger so that Shifu will notice him. I get the feeling that by the end of the movie, Tai Lung finally earns the title of Dragon Warrior by helping Po defeat Chameleon

Tai Lung to me was far and away the best villain in the series. He wasn’t special because of some magical powers, some advanced weaponry or because he was the “chosen warrior.” He was straight hands, accomplished feats NO ONE had done in the canon universe before and was so nonchalantly stronger than everyone else that it was terrifying. To find out that, in all honestly, he was only an emotionally damaged person that was trying to do everything he could to live up the what he considered the bare minimum of what he was supposed to achieve for his entire life was heartbreaking

I imagined an alternate end for the first film where after learning the truth of the Dragon scroll, he stops fighting, and instead decides to seek redemption. So he would set out on a journey to help and protect villages. Not instantly becoming a hero and good guy, but not a villain anymore either. Because the thing is, Tai Lung was a great fighter. He was well trained, as well as adaptable. He could have made for a great warrior, if not for his un-tempered ambitions.

I know the chameleon is gonna bring back tai lung and hopefully he’ll get a second chance and everyone will forgive him. Hopefully po and the others can convince tai lung to let go of this hate and grudge and his pride, and to focus on being a better kung fu master. I felt bad for tai lung when he wasn’t chosen to be the dragon warrior. The reason why oogway refused to accept him as the the dragon warrior was because he saw the darkness in his heart and tai lung let that foolish pride of his get the best of him. When tai king grew older and stronger while he was training and doing kung fu he enjoyed it too much. Tai lung was only doing this for himself. I hope he learns the error of his ways in the 4th film next year and hopefully he’ll change his ways

What I would love to see: Po starts to fail and loose his advantage in the final battle against the Chameleon, Tai Lung comes rushing in to kick the Chameleon away and temporarily stun her with a pressure point strike. He helps Po up and they square off with the Chameleon. The two Kung Fu fighters win in the end, however Tai Lung feels somewhat disappointed since he doesn’t have much left in his life to do other than going back to the spirit world, he asks Po if he could do the Wushi finger hold on him one more time. Po shakes his head and says he’s got a better idea, Po takes Tai Lung back to the Jade palace and says he’s found the new Dragon warrior, Tai Lung. Everyone gasps in shock (while Monkey faints at the idea of that) even Tai Lung is confused saying “But your the dragon warrior, why should I get the title when I did nothing compared to you panda?” Po smiles and says “Well I got my own master training I have to do and I don’t need the title of dragon warrior anymore, so I think it would be best that Tai Lung, who helped me kick the Chameleon’s scaly butt should be awarded with the title. After all, you did train a long time to earn it more than I, didn’t you?” Tai Lung smiles and knees to Po saying it would be an honor.

I love Tai Lung he would be amazing and deserve true redemption. He wasn't truely evil. We understand him, connect with him. They need movies about him and his redemption. Po could teach him so much. Okay this definitely one of those videos where I should bring this up….. I getting so tired of seeing so even too many redeemable villains in media I mean I like it when it’s done well and who knows maybe with Tai Lung it will be done well but I feel it gets to/has gotten to the point where it sends a potentially harmful even dangerous message that literally anyone can become a good person even after doing so many horrible things and Tai Lung always came off to me as one of those villains who can’t be saved because he doesn’t want to be saved. I mean again I love a good redemption story as much as the next person but there are certain points where I’m like…. Yeah can’t we just let villains be evil? Or at least too set in their ways to where their hearts and minds just can’t be changed? And believe me this is saying a lot coming from someone who wants Azula from A:TLA to be redeemed.

I understand where you are coming from. I don't enjoy when villains randomly become good, but that's why I tried to articulate throughout this video why it actually makes sense for the character within the world of Kung Fu Panda to be redeemed. When his father dies, will he just never attempt to help him move on from his past when their souls exist for eternity? To me, it doesn't make sense for Tai Lung not be reformed in the Spirit Realm. He remained a villain throughout his mortal life and throughout the entirety of his first film, but there are a lot of reasons he could change his ways in death.

When we die to our old selves and given a second chance, things begin to change in us and if it is written and done well, can bring valuable lessons. Arrogance, stubbornness, a hardened heart, and pride lead to the death of oneself and in death, when accompanied by the right company can humble oneself, find inner peace, the true meaning of strength and see true improvement. Death can mean many things but here it's a spiritual one.

He did evil things being propped up on a false objective from someone he loved. While the village may not forgive him because of the type of person he was, it’s not set in stone. Like Po, they can come to see how much he changed since then. If done well which Kung Fu Panda did Po’s character right so who’s to say they can’t do this with Tai Lung. It actually makes sense here. If he doesn’t then fine.

What Tai Lung really wants is to be the Dragon Warrior by getting the scroll which is top priority to him while making Shifu proud is second. His desire for the scroll outweigh his former love for Shifu as even after hesitation upon Shifu's apology, he hardened his heart and want what he came for. It's up to Dreamworks to see about what would happen to Tai Lung in the end, wither it end up for your liking or not. I know it sounds hypocrite on my part since I also hope for some things but still. I hope you understand where I'm standing.

I know someone is going to compare TL to Zuko because all redemption stories need to be compared to Zuko even though Zuko didn't need redemption because he was never shown to be a monster, he was depicted as a victim trapped in a cycle that he eventually broke out of.
