In Dublin, not only is it very difficult to even find a martial arts studio or teacher but to find one that you actually like is a first for me and I'm 30 years old. This is the person I want to teach me.

Dear Master Yan Xin, thank you for your great short instructional video. You inspired me to write a blog article about "The Golden Rooster Stands On One Leg" (Jin Ji Du Li) posture from a Tai Chi perspective (I have cited you and linked this video). In the Yang Style 37 Tai Chi form we have several difficult one-legged postures: "The Golden Rooster ...Left /Right leg", "The Separation of Right/Left Leg", "Turn and Kick with Sole", "Turn and Sweep Lotus with Leg" & what you are sharing helps develop the proper balance with all of them. Starting with your video I discovered from my blog research process that the Jin Ji Du Li posture has some great & surprising health benefits for ageing-related conditions - particularly cognitive decline (dementia, stroke etc) which are supported by Western Medical studies. And that this posture has special significance in Tai Chi & the Martial Arts (the three treasures of balance)...so my new found knowledge & appreciation of "The Golden Rooster..." was because of your video, thank you. This form is first introduced in kalaripayattu ( mother of all martial arts) and this form is called kookora vadivu or rooster stance.
