😂😂ahaha LOL Robert, you are fetishist of art supplies just like me! I can relate very well! Believe, buying fashion doesn’t give me by far the same pleasure. And guilt trip 😱

These are so pretty. I have the 36 set too, so I think I might pick these up. However, I do wish Kuretake would bring out some sets with the blackened shades like Boku Undo E-Sumi Japanese watercolors. They have two different sets of 6 and I love them! Very deep and moody.

Thank you Lori for your comment 🥰I have the 36 pans as well and I like it a lot, so vibrant! The Sumi-e attracts me a lot actually….

They do! They call it graphite colors, but I didn't notice any graphite in them.

@@maryannprzybycien2013 that’s actually the 3rd set of six (not including the metallics and pearls). The three sets of 6 are, Boku Undo Shadow Black Mei, Boku-Undo E-Sumi, and GANSAI TAMBI Graphite (which do have graphite in them, which gives them that dark, granulating sheen and if you rub a metal spoon over the painted area when dry, will,polish it up very shiny).

I love it but I forget to use it because it takes up too much space on my desk 😂😂, but you are right, it’s a joy to paint ! I also love the large pans…so easy to use!

I love them! I love pastels and I enjoy also opaque watercolours and I mix watercolour and gouache so I like variety and don't obsess over transparency. I feel these colours are also good for anime style art.

I couldn’t agree more!! I don’t obsess over single pigment either…let’s have fun with colours!! Thank you so much for your great comment 😊😊

@@maryannprzybycien2013 thank you Mary Ann! With the name I eventually found it on Amazon US. I don’t think this set is yet available in Europe 😭😭such a shame because it look gorgeous ….even potter’s Pink!!! Such lovely muted colours, not just pastel…are you based in the Americas? I’m sure they will soon arrive here…the graphite set is not available either…I wonder if it’s very different from the Derwent one which I own…

Yes, Elisabetta I agree with you. I suppose their best quality is that they will be able to glaze with thin layers. Some colours look pretty together, but it isn't my cup of tea either. I would add more white, and turn them into gouache. I think the two light beige colours may be nice with a real PB28 cobalt pigment, an artist brand, for a sky, where the clouds become warm, and this colour wouldn't make a greeny grey, but hopefully a glowing sky first layer. The cherry blossom pink colour could be a first layer, but most cherry blossoms have a touch of magenta or the maroon. I think this set will work best with other colours, not the 36 Kuretakes, but another artist quality set. In the pans they look more vibrant, so this is an indication of how they would look in glazes, or first washes. It makes me think that these are dyes plus PW6, as they couldn't lift when dry, rather than pigments which do. It is irritating to buy something and not be happy with it, but trying to find the great qualities, and keep in one's mind for a situation to use them best in, means one has to think about it for a little longer, or give them away to a friend, to send them a parcel. Don’t ever try any paint by Upgrey! I just threw out 90 tubes of what they call paint, It took me 2 days to clean the pans as the gunk called paint turned to a sponge like texture and I literally had to dig out this mushy gluey barely “chromatized “. Just a word on this yucky , unpainted😱😢😝😝😝😝😝

Mostly weak, chalky, and with no pigment information, probably mostly fugitive colors. I wouldn’t trust these for anything other than children’s paints.
@WatercolorElisabetta2 жыл бұрын
For sure the lack of pigment information is really a problem. I find this paint not so bad as you :) !! It's vibrant and easy to use. However, I do not consider it a professional range but a student brand. Thanks a lot for your feedback!
