The two styles, messy girl and tight koi, adds to the story telling of the painting.

Love it! the contrast it gives the feeling that she and the ground are tangible while the coy is a fleeting moment in time.

Hello, Like the paiting!👍 In a video about colourshift of the kuretake gansai tambi paints, there was a, i think, importent comment. You use 400 grams paper. It seems, that the kuretake keep their colours better on sketching-paper. Kuretake is made original for rice-paper. The thicker papers tend to slurp more of the colour away. I think that your night sky may come out differently and more shiny. Good luck with it and keep up this way of working! Your work is lovely!😍

A little $12 travel hair dryer was one of the best things I bought for watercolor painting. No more waiting between layers.

Trouble is that doesn’t give the paints time to do their magic … those subtle beautiful things that happen as the paint dries naturally

I love this! I think the mixed technique worked well to the effect you wanted to achieve: keeping the koi flat made it glow, making the girl muddy kept her grounded and the interaction beautiful.

I know the struggle. Drawing for yourself is so important but most of the time I have my social media accounts in mind thinking of what I draw is postable. It's kind of sad. But on the other hand I enjoy everything I draw, so it's still not bad. Time management is a slkill too, that needs to be learned. I'd love some chill topic less videos from you, I just enjoy wathcing you create. It always ends up being so beautiful!
@Zaccura3 жыл бұрын
Haha totally relate to the "hm... is this postable??" thoughts😂😅 'Tis the struggle of the 21st century artist I suppose lol. Thank you so much, Meanstin!!

I'm so impressed you managed to layer the gansai paints so well! They're honestly not optimal for layered painting (At least I think so when using them) but you managed really well!! Also, a hairdryer speeds up the drying process, truly a gamechanger

Lovely painting! Pro tip- investing in a heat tool used for embossing powders will help with drying time. You can find one with multiple heat settings. Disclaimer: Please don't use a hair dryer, might cause fire. Crafting heat tools are different than hair dryers .

First video I've had time to watch in a while and still awesome! (as always ;) "Aesthetic, process videos" are a very cool idea and I think we as viewers can learn a lot from watching. But it is your channel go for it. Like your art for the sake of art projects, is great to do (and if we get to see the process yay!). Balance in anything is a struggle but when we have it is good to appreciate it so I really enjoyed you comments in this video! Again I have said it before but your videos are spectacular and when I get a chance to watch them I love every one of them. A book I am reading says: "We don't fake it till we make it. We believe it until we become it." To me I think it is some very cool and inspiring words, like your art and videos! Keep up the great work but with that balance you were talking about. Very wise. Thanks for the video and all the time you put into making it! *thumbs up* & *applause* ^_^

I like the different rendering approaches - the koi is consistent with the flatter white stars, like it is one with the sky somehow. A more textured rendering might give it a surreal look, like you can't tell whether there's a fish in sky or girl in water. Which would also be cool, though.

Have you tried painting on 100% cotton paper? I find that it’s a lot less frustrating to use than pulp paper. Colors tend to look more vibrant on better paper too.

This turned out beautifully! Have you thought about a wet on dry technique for the background? You’d have to mix a lot more paint in the beginning, but I think the water layer is what kept lightening your layers. But wow I commend your patience because four layers is tough lol. But also, That paper really took it like a champ!! Either way, I really enjoyed your process 😁😁💜
@Zaccura3 жыл бұрын
I think you’re right about the water lightening the layers. But I’ve always struggled with filling in large areas with wet-on-dry. It always leaves streaks for me.🤔 But maybe investing in a much larger brush would fix that issue haha. 😉 Thank you so much!

First let me say that I freaking love your art... And also that the following is only a suggestion, I know absolutely nothing about nothing okay... (Just wanna try my hand at being somewhat helpful) But I was just thinking that perhaps having some of the white light from the koi (I'm assuming it's glowing) bouncing off onto the girl (like a little white highlight to the reflective bits and perhaps a bit on the ground)... Might help the two feel more like they're both apart of the same atmospheric environment (I cant spell) and perhaps help enhance that impact you were hoping for... (I'm also terrible at grammar....have a nice day...)

That is a great suggestion! I think that would've helped
