The strike to the inside of the forearm is very painful ! We have nerves and connective tissue running through there . I learned to block hitting this area in uechi ryu . An Okinawan style . Really appreciate you verifying techniques. Traditional arts have been given a bad wrap since MMA got so popular.

Thank you. Im a senior woman. I've been learning Kung Fu for most of my life. I will continue till the end . I will try out these techniques. I love your channel.
I have experienced the pain of having many of these techniques done to me and can assure doubters that they are not "fake." That said, and with all due respect to the masters and their demonstrations, when someone tells you exactly you how you're supposed to block, kick, or punch, there's a high probability that if you were to do it a different way, the technique would not produce the desired effect. Also, techniques that are effective and impressive against someone who's willing to be the punching bag are much less effective against an alert, moving, reactive opponent.

I feel like at birth we find out pain is real, and especially getting hit in the funny bone that is true pain. We then learn very quickly pain hurts. Ouch!

A friend of mine who does kickboxing, demonstrated the one inch punch on me. The force that can be generated when someone knows what their doing is unbelievable.

That's why you have to practice a lot to be able to do techniques also to people who fight back in different ways. Most people don't have patience to train years which maked their training useless. Well, od course condition gets better if training for instance 6 months something but it's too short time to learn practical self defence. That short time is only introduction.
The Shorinji Kempo kick counter still blows my mind.
@joaofonseca20122 жыл бұрын
What I love about Shorinji Kempo is that the techniques look easy, but they´re not. And they can literally work on everyone, if they´re done correctly and adapted when necessary. And another thing I like about Shorinji Kempo is the perfect harmony between soft and hard tecniques, like, if one doesn´t work, the other will work.

At 16:21. We call it the 3 star blocking drill. It really helps in desensitizing forearms. Is very painful when first learning drill but gets less quickly. I study wing chun and gung fu which utilizes it often.

It's not fake. It's just "difficult". That's why true martial artists train their skills throughout their life. Of course it's useless if you just try to imitate them.

Wow kempo look a lot like the way i feel tai chi when i move good, Cool. That will be a good add in to my system, Asian Awareness Arts are build for, Multi martial arts people that do not have time to train all style. Focus in are the style I base on, All style use same 6 Element I found, its way easier to handle more styles this way strong. Focus you mind and energy and train about 6 hour / week, will make you strong in every style you do. 2 hours you focus on the new style you like to learn, 4 hours on balance your known.
