I'm from Salisbury md and was at that show. I never knew that was his last match. I also attended wrestlemania 35 so I was there for both of Kurt's final wwe matches!

I was at One Night Stand the day If Cena won we riot. Although it wasn't real "ECW" it sure was fun watching Angle take young Orton to school completely. Angle manhandled Orton, pretzeled him, & paintbrushes the crap out of him. It was nice to see a real shooter actually shoot...even if it just was for a little bit.

This whole situation was irony. Vince told Kurt imma going to make you the star of this company, smaller venues and less pay but you'll be the face. Angle didn't know if that was a promotion or demotion so he left the company to go be the face of a company with a smaller venue and less pay 😂😂😂

Kurt has said he got 7 figures for his TNA contract, so I doubt it was less pay than WWE

This ignores how big the schedule plays into it. With ECW he probably thinks he’s going to be working just as busy of a schedule. In TNA he makes similar cash but works substantially less. Look at 2007-8. He wrestled around 35 times each year for TNA for seven figures. And that doesn’t factor in that they held tapings so it wasn’t even 35 shows and the intense travel. That is absurdly less of a workload by comparison and he makes a lot of money doing it while with ECW he probably has that road warrior schedule and constant travel. Schedule factor always plays huge in evaluating the moneh.

Even then I knew what Vince wanted the move to Raw in the draft of 05 was get a maineventer in front a new audience for a time to keep him fresh. But my the end of the year Smackdown had lost Eddie Guerrero to his passing, Christian left for TNA, Muhammad Hassan was let go because of the UPN network hating the character, and World Champ Batista was injured needed surgery so Kurt going back to Smackdown made sense because Vince needed a mainevent slot filled and Kurt was believable day one your World Champ. Same with the ECW on Scifi which you had to pay extra for back in the day, so here the WWE audience has to pay more for a new product they knew very little about and hadn't seen names like Sandman, Sabu, or CM Punk, so Vince said let's put Kuet Angle, Big Show, and Rob Van Dam there to make them want to watch it. It's crazy the state Kurt was in back then that I as a teenager could connect the dots but he as a professional couldn't see it.

Went from the Main Event of New Year's Revolution for the WWE title to losing the World HW Title at Wrestlemania to ECW Brand in a 6 month span. Anybody in his shoes could view it as a demotion

They sure as ish wasn't sending cena to ecw unless it was promotion for the show but he would have never been permanently sent there
