I hope Jason continues to watch TNA because I love his rants lol. I think a lot of fans watch WWE/TNA because of 2 things: Habit and Hope. As much as TNA has sucked lately (Just from what I hear, I don't watch lol), I still want them to succeed because history shows that competition is good for the wrestling business. Hell, any business for that matter. Competition brings out the best in any organization.
@codyblane83449 жыл бұрын
Problem is, TNA was never competition except for those brief moments in early 2010 on Monday night. I love Lucha Underground, and I hear New Japan had a strong PPV last month, but these shows are unknown to casual wrestling fans. WWE has zero competition in terms of wrestling. Their closest rivals would be UFC or Bellator or something like that.

RatedPhenomStyles Yeah, I posted this comment ever 2 years ago and my feelings haven't changed. WWE needs strong competition in the form of another great wrestling product. That being said, I really don't watch TNA, except a KZbin clip here and there but I'm pretty confident their saving grace right now is obviously Broken Matt, and if he leaves or that character overstays its welcome (Which I think is very possible), then they're in trouble.

TNA is a joke these nowadays. I haven't watched since AJ Styles. But after coming back to find out that they've lost half of their freakin roster with top stars included, it's just hilarious. Apparently, you don't make money in TNA unless your name is Kurt Angle or Jeff Hardy. What a fucking joke. Also heard that back in 20014, Angle wanted to go back to WWE, but HHH turned him down. I guess the money in TNA isn't what it used to be for that matter.
@philiphunn1949 жыл бұрын
I think the reason WWE said no to Angle was that he wanted a different schedule to the one they wanted him to take (I forget which way round the schedules were, but they were incompatible either way), so the discussion fell apart.
@midtiermagic9 жыл бұрын
+Philip Hunn Yeah, Angle wanted a part time contract, but HHH was only offering a full time contract to him. In a sense, it's still turning him down because HHH is pretty much saying he can do with or without him.

Do people even WATCH TNA cards and compare it to the actual WWE CARDS? WWE books the same matches on Smackdown and Raw back to back. You can't focus in on one gimmick and say the whole program sucks. Because you don't like the Menagerie, it's all bad? So then WWE must suck because I can zone in on MANY stupid gimmicks and judge the whole promotion based on it. I could say WWE sucks because that Hornswaggle Torito angle is not funny every taping for months straight. Fandango dance contests. Rusev constantly crushing either Xavier woods or Zack Ryder. Same angles over and over and over again. Cena being paired with everyone legit just to get him over. Sandow coming out in stupid get ups that aren't even funny and the fans don't even get the joke. Don't just diss TNA just because their guys don't sell merch. They don't have money to throw at everything like that. MVP, Lashley, and King aren't entertaining? They're a fake Evolution but the real Evolution look like ECW washups with the fucked up haircuts and Tshirts. Let's be for real.

C X Humor is a very subjective thing: I learned that from a movie critic in Austin who I've only recently come to speaking terms on his review website. We've gotten into arguments regarding a friend of his who's a comedian in the town over his style of jokes; he can listen to him for five hours and get a laugh all the time, while I honestly can't stand listening to him for five minutes because he's so unfunny to me. I've not watched TNA, but from what every podcast show on TVTrax have said, it seems to me it should be treated the same way as movies by Friedberg and Seltzer: by that I mean "Don't watch them to review them, Don't watch them to make fun of them.DON'T.WATCH.THEM."

I care about the who-has-the-power storyline, though I find both heel Dixie and MVP unpleasant. Totally agree that if they say someone is an authority figure then he should have authority, and so it makes no sense that MVP couldn’t just not agree to book a match. You ask who thought of the lesbian angle in an ironic tone, as if it were obvious. Bischoff? I thought he left already. That Menagerie/clown-phobia thing with the Jersey Shore guys was so ridiculous that it was kind of enjoyable. Pointless, yes, but hey, it’s not like I’m off saving the world when wrestling’s not on. It’s a pastime. It would be interesting to know what ideas were Russo’s while he was at TNA. I might have liked one or two of them, and not known it was him.

It's been a LONG time since I've watched TNA, but I've always have had the impression its one of the worst things on television. There's always one peticular segment that seems to stand out in my mind when I think of TNA: The segment that I think it was Miss Tessmacher made the entire Knockouts Division wash cars in lingerie, because "shes a bitch".. It was one of the most pointless, stupid, and I hate to sound like a asswipe, intentionally degrading things I've ever seen on TV. Someone wrote that down, some one looked at it and said "Yeah, this'll work" and worse yet, the women obviously agreed to it.

An Aries/Joe double walk out would have been a pretty cool direction in which to go. It would have been a poor man's Summer of Punk but would have opened a neat set of options (as long as you don't pretend that you're reinventing the wheel with the angle). You could even hint at CM Punk's AWOL status and piggyback some of his heat ('Aries/Joes, you're not the first to walk out on the wrestling business' etc). Air a series of segments where Dixie is negotiating a return with them and move the characters in separate directions (Aries will come back to fight for the glory of the top championship in a face move; Joe is in it for more money in a heel move; something like that). Just a series of reasonably straightforward story arcs would do it. Trying to run heel vs heel with a million ever-changing factions doesn't really work. Keep it simple, stupid.

the problem is they've just overused the heel authority figure time and time again. First TNA overdid the faction idea and now they're overdoing the heel authority idea. Not to mention you see someone who was a mid carder in wwe being put in the main event, rather than having someone on the roster who is over. If they were going to put MVP in the main event at least build him up. They're creative is the problem, don't know who they fired or who they put in charge, but things need to change quickly, it's unwatchable at times.

I thought the Menagerie was a complete joke from the start. I think it was the second week they appeared when Kazarian had his match with one of them I think it was the stupid clown? I was very close to quitting on TNA at that moment. I'm still in the mindset of pulling the trigger on TNA. I'm very close to that breaking point. In addition, why does TNA seem to have good ideas, that they can't capitalize on?! The Menagerie for instance is a good idea on paper, but it's pulled off very poorly, and then they come across as jokes. Ace's and Eight's same thing.

No, WWE Raw (in recent years) is the worst TV programme in the history of TV. Actually, anything WWE related is trash as far as I'm concerned. I'm sick of all the TNA bashing when WWE gives enough reason to bash them for a lifetime. TNA was putting on consistently good shows last year (2014). At least TNA tries to give you decent shows when the same cant be said for WWE.
@togborne9 жыл бұрын
+David Briar Ok, can you give me some examples? However, it must be near impossible to come up with something totally original in pro wrestling as everything has been done before in one way or another. WWE do it as well it's just because they are the so called "big leagues" that they seem to get a pass. WWE are currently copying the Abyss/Joseph Park split personality angle with Kane and doing a far worse job of it than TNA. What really annoys me is that it has become almost fashionable to bash TNA for some unknown reason. WWE fans are so far in to the forest that they miss the tree. WWE programming and in particular monday night Raw is factually and clearly bad- that's not even a debate. WWE RAW= 3 hours of hot garbage. If you just use your eyes and ears you know that TNA is clearly the better product. Is it better than WCW and WWF in the late nineties? No but its the best we have in terms of mainstream wrestling today. TNA is better because they don't insult your intelligence, the in ring wrestling is better, there is a rotation of top guys (and it doesn't revolve around one guy like Cena), the promo's are better, guys are allowed to be themselves, the storylines make sense and there is continuity when it comes to this, they can bleed etc. The list goes on and on. When I watch WWE I see a lot of laziness and a slapped together and nonsensical product. WWE has a clueless, old, out of touch egomaniac running things. He plays on the stupidity of their fan base who will continue to watch no matter how bad the product gets. He knows this and that's why it doesn't change.
@togborne9 жыл бұрын
+David Briar Dude, those examples that you give of TNA copying WWE are pretty weak/lame. Like I said, in pro wrestling everything has been done before in one way or another. It's the execution of these things that matters and in my opinion TNA are clearly better at that. Re- the examples you give of TNA insulting the fans intelligence, I would say they were more booking mistakes or whatever rather than insulting the fans intelligence. WWE insult your intelligence as a whole- there are too many examples to list off even in the most recent RAW. Bro, you can like what you like but I personally can't understand how you can defend what is in my opinion such a garbage product- to the point where I think you must either be insane, trolling or under the age of about 8. My point about it being mainstream- I didn't mean mainstream generally speaking I just meant when it comes to pro wrestling. TNA obviously doesn't have as many viewers, the production value that WWE has or the financial backing but what it comes down to at the end of the day is- am I entertained by TNA? Yes. Am I entertained by WWE? No. Everyone has heard of John Cena? I don't think so! Also , I would like to see Stephanie McMahon get power bombed of the top rope through a table like Dixie Carter did last year!

I was debating whether to come out of retirement from arguing with WWE nut huggers and pukeiverse members. I laughed to myself when I read that last comment- it never ceases to amaze me how people can defend the current WWE product and try to claim it is better than TNA. The WWE is factually bad- the ratings back that up. They have lost about a million viewers in a year. That's a disgrace and Vince McMahon should be ashamed. For a company that has been around as long as they have to barely get 3 million viewers on a weekly basis is embarrassing. We are witnessing the slow death of the WWE, people and I'm loving every second of it. WWE is sinking to the bottom of the ocean (in the style of the John Cena sucks song) WWE sucks, WWE sucks, WWE sucks, WWE sucks...
