Aside from his undeniable wrestling acumen, he has a spectacular mind for the business. He could play any type of character: Goofy deluded heel, ruthless borderline psychopath heel, an ironically naive white meat babyface, a no nonsense badass face and a “shoot” wrestling tweener. He was always willing not to take himself too seriously and also adapt to organic fan reactions (something crossover wrestlers from “real” sports often struggle with i.e. Rousey).

I think a lot of his in-character success stems from his legit, real-life achievements. He doesn't have to front as a star, he legitimately is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Possibly ever since he did win the gold with a broken neck. So there's no insecurity hidden in there that he's trying to hide. His proof is in the history books.

Kurt Angle has been my absolute favorite since he first came to the WWF 20 years ago. I loved his rise to the top from Euro-Continental to WWF Champion and his stint as King Angle. I watched his first DVD repeatedly as it was a birthday gift from my then fiance. I loved his holier-than-thou attitude from it's true it's true to the three Is. His in-ring performance was only rivaled by Chris Benoit Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero and of course Brock Lesnar. He was the real deal in and out of the ring. Great Mike skills, his condescending attitude was so great! I can go on and on but I won't as I haven't read anybodys comments and I'm sure it's all been said. Bottom line Kurt Angle is THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.

One of the greatest of all time, cant think of anyone who rose has risen to the top as quickly as Kurt did in WWE...I know the Rock was heavily pushed in his rookie year, but from what I remember, The Rock never had the seemingly instant success Angle did, and I cant think of anyone since Angle, possibly Lesnar and Orton, they seemed to be pushed up pretty quick and also Goldberg back in WCW. Quite frankly, Kurt brought some legitimacy to WWE because of his extensive background and he is tough as hell as well, as he loved to remind us how he won the Gold Medal with a broken fricking neck... Keep up the good work anyway
@popmonika4 жыл бұрын
I believe looking back that Kurt's early losses worked better as a heel than a face. I don't think general fans took to angle until the invasion storyline. Burying wrestlers is normally used when a major face is denied a win (ie booker t vs triple h)
@exeortegarubio4 жыл бұрын
16:57 Friendly reminder that Triple H also allegedly demanded to beat Angle to win the World title because he also argued that 'nobody would believe somebody like Kurt could legitimately beat me'. To which Gerald Briscoe retorted, 'can you outwrestle Kurt in a shoot?'. And so Triple H had to swallow his pride, allegedly.

That’s pretty sad that triple H was so insecure that he had a whole storyline changed simply because he was paranoid about looking weak. You know it was triple h because not only does it fit what we’ve heard about hunters backstage antics all these years, but he basically did the same thing with the jericho feud when jericho wanted to do an angle involving an affair with Stephanie McMahon. He actually had the audacity to say “Well it’s not realistic because Stephanie would never cheat on me.” Not only is that a pathetically weak excuse to not do the angle, it’s also not accurate because this is Vince McMahons daughter we’re talking about, you know Vince had his fair share of infidelities what makes you think Stephanie didn’t either? Shes definitely the type you can tell just by looking at her.
