I think the Butthole Surfers type song Dale is referring to around 4:22 is the track Punk Rocker. Toward the end Kurt does this super noisy chaotic solo and you can hear the tapes sound messed up in the background, never would have even noticed if Dale didn’t mention that!

My favorite song from Illiteracy Will Prevail is .... "Class of '86"?, I think for a long time it also had a false title of "Buffy's Pregnant", anyway the song where Kurt mocks high school stereotypes/cliques. I think for the longest time that has been the most relatable song from the demo for me, other than maybe "Sound Of Dentage", they're both my favorites. Early versions of "Spank Thru" and "Downer" are great too.

I might know what song Dale mentioned that Kurt did a butthole surfer style solo. It’s Class of 86, when all of sudden the music stops and Kurt is doing this wicked solo and then music starts to play again underneath the solo.

I hope one day that someone with integrity and a higher view, will make a doco about the Kurt I knew - the creative hilarious inconceivable mystic genius. The depressed suicide narrative is not very accurate and many of his family and friends think his death was suspicious. Kurt himself said he made up his personality from bits of others, he was a rare someone who had some realization of the 'emptiness of self' as the eastern mystics say, ie no fixed self. He was more a reflection of his environment then, which was not very supportive. I would love a doco of people saying how they were affected by him, inspired, as it is something few can put into words, the effect he had on the collective consciousness, what was he tapping into as a 'creative' and someone who had deep empathy. I even know some mystic types who have seen Kurt's spirit and been guided, inspired or warned by it etc. Perhaps then we can all better understand and appreciate such people, and support them in our materialist society. Creativity is after all, ultimately, the art of manipulation... for better or worse.
