I don't get the choke, but I must say the pass works like a treat! I have been using it for nearly a year now after seeing this vid and it still gets ppl all the time

I do have problems though getting the ankle/foot stuck at the end of the pass... any tips for this?

tricepsish yes: use your free foot to push on his top leg (aka leg off the ground). This little detail is essential. He showed it around the 2.40 mark

interesting. leão teixeira paid a surprise visit to our academy a couple of months ago and made a point of actually leaning back and putting your weight on the hips (as opposed to leaning forward as kurt does on the video) while doing the knee-slice pass. personally i felt it was a bit awkward, but when he demonstrated the pass on me, i could feel i was totally glued to the mat.
