Hello and welcome to a knitting vlog where I take you along the journey of desiging and knitting a colorwork swetaer from start to finish with a little twist :)
I've had this very specific idea that I've wanted to try out on a colorwork sweater, and in this video this idea finally came to life.
We visited the legendary Stephen & Penelope yarn shop www.stephenand... while we were on our way home to Finland from Portugal, and I picked up the perfect yarns for this project.

I lived in Germany for 14 years in my 20s and i fell in love with the yarn shops! I worked for Nevia and as an American I learned so much. I got to travel to Holland, Amsterdam, Italy etc. . I found that Europe has the best yarn shops in the world and I fell in love with the people. I have been back in America for over 20 years and I just wish we had yarns or should I say yarn shops like this here in the south. Your work is stunning and I hope one day to knit as beautiful as you. I Thank the ladies I met in Germany for giving me a gift of knitting. They didn't realize they gave me a lifetime wonderful gift. Kika, your cat is so funny! 😂 I have three of them to contend with and sometimes I have no choice but to share my yarn with them -my merino wool!! They chomp it with their teeth and sever it in one bite, and one of them tries to pick up the entire ball of yarn in their mouth and run away with it. I have to give them some of my cheaper cotton yarn to satisfy their yarn craving. It’s nice when they just watch the yarn instead of stealing it. 😂

I would love to knit a sweater but I don't have the patience. I find I start something and then change my mind. When I was younger I had a box full of ribs that I'd knitted and not got any further because I couldn't make my mind up. So now I knit and crochet smaller items, started a business and sell them around the country at shows, in shops and in galleries. I always use natural yarns and fibres. I spent 15 days in Stockholm in April, and watching your videos makes me wanna go back and explore all of Scandinavia even more!!! I'm Brazilian from the south of the country and it's our cold season now. I love it! I love the colours you chose and it looks sooooo soft and cosy! It makes me think of a crew neck sweatshirt but so much nicer but it has that comfort vibe to it. The word choice was perfect. So clever and cute! The fit looks relaxed but not bulky or boxy …. Really nice!! I really like watching you work on these projects. I am a newer knittter. I’ve done a few sweaters now but I am so intimidated by written patterns/instructions. I’m a real visual learner. I want to learn new techniques but again, most of it is in written format and I struggle with that. Watching you design a sweater in your head and then work it out as you go is actually teaching me a lot about how different sweaters are constructed, and what to consider when it comes to sizing and what not. Your tutorials have all been so easy for me to grasp and follow along with and even when you are doing things that are still a bit out of my ability, I’m following along and learning things I can apply to where I am currently at and it’s encouraging me to just try. It’s just yarn, I can always undo it and try again. So, thank you 😊 Also, I followed Stephen and Penelope on IG after watching this. What an inspiration their account is! Next time I go to Amsterdam I will definitely make a special trip to go to their store ❤
