6 yr kids should be in 1st std... obviously 2nd std syllabus will be heavy for a 6yr old kid. Even we put our kid back in 1st std as soon as we realised our mistake.

Guess it depends on the kid ultimately. I was in 2nd std when I was 6 yrs old. Didn't really turn out bad to me. But it highly depends on the syllabus and the school.
