I think western palate might be harder to convince. People don't even want chicken byproducts in their nuggets let alone introducing a whole new protein source. Unless, you don't tell people there are worms in the nuggets but then you would get in trouble with the FSIS, FDA, and USDA.

Had these myself. While tasty if prepared properly it's also a bit of an acquired taste. However, barring something drastic, I doubt you can convince most people to knowingly eat these. But I could see this sort of thing be used to feed livestock as a cheap protein rich food source.

Do you think they could disguise the flavour and sell it as a meat alternative? I don't see people willingly chewing down on meal bugs, but if processed into a protein paste and then reformed to resemble beef or pork... We might have a chance.
