Looks like a great beer. I have a kviek rye IPA on tap at the moment.I still have a pong game in the box in bubble wrap with instructions. I definitely don’t miss bottling now I keg. Another great episode,cheers from over the pond 👍🍻

Holy hop stand and dry hop Bat Man! A full 13 oz. Interesting idea on bottle conditioning. Probably hard to parse out what is from the yeast, if anything, with that monster hop bill. But the cool thing is being able to ferment so warm and not get a disaster.

Dear watchers & brewers. PLEASE like that video. It's the least, we can do for James & Steve (besides being their Patreons, some even Dolly Patreons) :E. For the google's algorithm sake, bumping up those extraordinary creations :) It''s an art in the purest form ! :D

thanks for the video. I actually had a gnip-gnop when I was a kid. Loved that game.

so you stared at 159F and then once it lowered in temp to 150F, you then added the 2Row? Or does your kettle reduce 9 degrees with all at grain at once? How did you filter out all of the hop material and get it so clear looking?
@basicbrewing2 ай бұрын
Adding the grain will lower the temperature. I use an online mashing calculator to determine what my strike water temp should be.

Nice to see the table sugar in there. Helps dry out a beer with a rather big malt base. *Edit Oooops! Your already knew that hehehe. Sounds like a nice beer to have with fish and chips.

Here is the system that I use. I love it. Sadly, the manufacturer, High Gravity, is no longer in business. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ7ZqqtoYqd3Y68si=W0nMZt0CbHzTzaTS

Ahem. I had an Atari 800, 2600, 5200, and 7800 and I'll be 50 soon. So, yeah. I remember. EDIT: And yes, I'm here to learn about beer, but this would be an interesting off-topic topic for an episode.

I went to a computer museum in Seattle where they had an Atari 800, Commodore 64, and TI99/4A sitting side-by-side. I never had my own computer, but I had friends who had each of those.

@@HeartPumper Right! I don't even want to think about the amount of summer work I had to do and side stuff throughout the year to be able to buy all of that. I feel sad thinking about the current nonsense going on...

Hi James, why do you mash for 90 minutes?
@basicbrewing2 ай бұрын
That's just my preference. I could rest for less time, probably, but I like having an hour and a half to do other things and get ready for the rest of the process.
