Kwame really had a lot of talent and potential. Basketball wasn't just Kwames priority, his family was much more important. That's exactly why he went to the NBA before going to college so he could support his family.

You're right. Jordan destroyed Kwame mentally, fucking his life up in the process. Kwame himself destroyed his career cause he couldn't get over it. People know what Jordan did but it's justified because he's the greatest basketball player.

Yeah no. Jordan would reduce kwame to tears multiple times in front of the team because kwame wasn't lebron 2.0 coming out as a rookie, and that would make oh glorious michael jordan look bad, so he verbally abused him to him never regaining his confidence. How would you feel if what most people consider the greatest basketball player ever sit there and abuse you in front of teammates because he took a gamble on a high school kid (because we all know how much mike loves his gambling) for the #1 pick and he happened to not be this amazing hs prospect that people expected to do good because MJ.. So Jordan took what he did best and took it up a notch, instead of trash talking or you know, coaching like a normal person, decides to personally insult the kid and embarrassing him in practice. Jordan is still GOAT IMO, but god damn if he isn't a complete fucking asshole of a person.

Yep most of the greatest players are absolute pricks, just the mentality I guess. Only one of the top 5 (IMO) who isn't like that is TD

I know this will be crazy to some, but I always thought Kwame had more talent than people gave him credit for, despite his struggles. He was the most cost-effective NBA center (and defensive anchor) in Charlotte and was looking nice in Golden State before that unlucky injury. I wish he could've had a real opportunity there, but it was pretty much over after he went to the Sixers. Also, I distinctly remember a game where Kwame blocked LeBron twice at the end of regulation to save the game (when he was with the Pistons vs. LeBron's Cavs). This would've been either '08-'09 or '09-'10. Does anyone else have the same memory? I could've sworn I wasn't dreaming.

Tbh Stephen a is a scrub bc he never made it to the league so instead bash other players, talk loud to make points, and not really know the game which is most sports with him. Kwame s career was messed up Bc the media and mj early on but played good in the playoffs but the media is not going to show that about him

He had high expectations coming from the number one spot for a high school kid which made it look even worse. Plus he didn't have a good work ethic, so he didn't put in the work to develop the rest of his game. All he had in high school was overpowering other players, which he couldn't do in the NBA, and he didn't have the foot work to keep up

Stephen a. is pathetic. consider the source, this is someone who had a show with delusional skip bayless, who are all michael jordan kiss ups.Mike should have helped kwame, he was a kid,Mike was a worse person than I thought and ball hog kobe was no better, he was so caught up in trying to prove he could win without shaq, who carried him,so they could win 3 back to back championships. And kobe didn't appreciate shaq either.though kobe's father connected him with the right people as an nba player himself (kobe's father) looked out for him, made sure he was surrounded by the right people to grow his career, just look at kobe's teams, full of great players, already set up to win.If kobe wanted to win on his own he would have stayed with the team that drafted him, but he didn't he got a pass,go figure.Kwame didn't have that luxury.I thought he could have been great, what a shame.
