this is a look at the combination microwave grill and oven made by cobolt systems of the UK for blind and visually impaired people, this microwave is just like your everyday one that most people know and use, but instead of having visual indications of what is going on, it uses speech feedback to accomplish the same thing, as you can see from the video the layout of this machine is very easy to use, and the speech is clear and meaningful, although I think personally it gives a little bit too much feedback at times, for example, when you open the door or close it, it'll say "door open!" or "door closed!" I'm not demented, I know I have opened the damn thing! apart from that? it's a good solid reliable bit of kitchen gear, with grill oven and microwave all in one solidly built unit.

I had a talking microwave years ago. Didn’t have the grill and the oven thing, just the microwave. Mine developed a fault. When the door was closed it would say door open. It would say it on its own in the middle of the night and wake the whole house up! Of course when the fault occurred it was out of warranty wasn’t it? We had loads of trouble trying to send it back! I might think about getting one of these in the future as the cooking possibilities are a lot more with this combo thing. Maybe also the technology is a bit more stable now. Then it was cutting edge stuff!

That voice reminds me of my talking clock radio that I used to have and I've always wanted to one day on a microwave that had all three when I get my own place that talks like that do they still make the microwave or is that one discontinued because their other ones discontinued but there's actually an American version that sounds like Gene Wilder's voice is on there

How do you change the weight of the chicken when defrosting? When press defrost poultry it only gives it a minute defrost!

To change the weight, you use the 10 minutes and one minute buttons. You can also use the 10 second button to change between metric and imperial units.

I've ordered mine, so with combination ovens, you are able to switch between microwave and combination oven allowing one to use regular bake wear. Can this microwave do this?

Irene Sumbera yes it can. you can either choose between microwave, grill or oven and you can also use combinations of either microwave and oven or microwave and grill. You can also use the built-in preset programs which use a combination of all three except the defrost programs which use microwave only.

I love the idea of that microwave with the convection oven I’ve heard of them but they were just microwaves I could not understand the speech I don’t know if that because it was muffled through Camera or something. I really wish they made more accessible appliances my neighbor and I just recently a few days ago went to the store because we both wanted a ninja foodie or Insta pot however we found out that all of them were not acceptable we were very upset in America getting accessible appliances in items is becoming harder and harder and harder what are used to be able to buy overlays for manufacturers you can no longer do that and you can get extremely frustrating this also is the same way for medication they make a machine that will allow the pharmacist to put Braille in large print on the bottles however none of the pharmacies around here will purchase the machine because they say costume lights and there’s not enough people meaning we’re just screwed I would love to know if they have this technology in the UK labels and Braille in large print for the blind for medication also do you have overlaysFor your washer and dryer’s ovens so forth what else is accessible there what about food in the grocery stores in Japan everything is accessible pretty much in America not so much at all

I’ve heard the version of this microwave they’re selling now and the speech sounds a lot less muffled than the microwave I have, which is the one featured in the video. From what I’ve been told, it looks exactly the same, but the speech is just a lot clearer.
