I don't know where people say Scott lost his voice closer to his death, this live performance is pretty damn flawless.
@shanksmcnasty66502 жыл бұрын
That was just the last year or 2. Think he might have been clean here then started fucking up they kicked him out not too long after this. Then the last year or so of the wildabouts it looked like he was just insanely messed up all the time like he just completely lost control

Scott is so passionate when he sings these type of songs. You and Chris C. are 2 of my favorite singers with so much raw and passion as if they are crying for us to help them. Miss you Scott and I hope you're much happier on the other side ❤️🙏

I mean... fuck'n A, I was in a band that played live for years and made money and won awards... these guys sound absolutely incredible in this video. If they sucked live for other people than blaim the sound guy or the people in charge of the sound, or maybe Scott was really jacked up on drugs. STP are ridiculously good players. I've learned a few of their songs on guitar and they are no joke, the guitar player is really really good. I was the singer in my band and somtimes the sound is so bad that you blow your voice in the first ten minutes. I don't know what the deal is about sound guys, a lot of the time they really suck. Every now and then you'll come across a good one and everything will sound good, balanced and clear like in this video. Shitty sound guys are the ones running the board when you see a live band and the guitar player is playing a solo and you can't hear his guitar and can only tell he's playing a solo because you can see his fingers moving or you can't hear the singer and all you can see is their mouths moving. Shitty sound guys are the worst because they act like everything is okay and it's supposed to sound that shitty. A lot of bands bring their own sound guys and P.A. systems for this reason. You can definitely tell the sound people had it toghther in this video.

I don't think his voice was ever an issue. He had a unique voice that was so tenor and mid range that it would always sound decent because he didn't have to push it too much. No super high notes, no super low notes. I think the problem was with his timing. He'd go on drug binges or whatever and his timing would be way off and his band mates would get pissed. Do a good Scott STP impersonation. Try it for yourself. It's really easy on the vocal chords and not too complicated. The other members of STP were really good and professional. They didn't play over him or drown him out, they took good care of him vocally. The people playing the instruments have a big role in how good the singer sounds. If a band has a shitty drummer and the timings all wacky or he's to loud then the singer gets screwed and will sound terrible and if the guitar or the bass players have bad timing and are too loud then everybody gets screwed.
