The differance is females can only see the genetic memory of there female ancestry, trying to access male genetic memory tends to drive them insane or even possessed by there male ancestor(s). The Kwisatz Haderach is able to access both sex's genetic memories.

Awaking him only to abandon his prophecy and to be continued from his son Leto Atreides II . Although a great character he was too emotional and not willing to take some drastic actions in order for the humanity to survive and evolve in many ways,actions that his son Leto Atreides II did take and was known as a Tyrant by many of the Imperium and also lived a lonely life for most of his lifetime. A sacrifice Paul knew he had to take from his prescience but he didn't.

Yes, right. When I was reading the first novel, I thought that Paul would become greater person than both his mother and father. I assumed that he would be better leader than Duke Leto and stronger person than Lady Jessica. However, I saw the signs which warned me that things might be visa versa in future. Then in the second and third novels, I realized that Paul was no better than his parents. Jessica was too emotional, humane and gentle for a BG and emotional for normal human standards. She weeped when it was inevitable, she grieved for her lost one(s), she experienced devastating traumas etc. However, in the end she never died with Duke Leto or her children. She was always a person of her own actually. Even when the times she became loyal to BG ideologies again, even when the times she put interests of House Atreides above anything else, she was also a free agent of her own. She failed, she became upset, she made mistakes, she feared but she continued in the end. She never bowed her head to life. Duke Leto was not a flawless man neither in his personal life nor in his political life . He had his own flaws. In private-political sense, never marrying Jessica was a huge thoughtless flaw. He could have arrange a suitable betrothal for Paul. He unnecessarily waited for a possible political and compulsory marriage in order to maintain the power of House Atreides in political games. He was too obsessed about this. There were no suitable noblewoman and you actually did not want marry another woman due to your eternal love and respect for Jessica and Paul. So, why did you wait? See what happened. This turned out to be your greatest remorse. In political sense only, he was too late to understand Dr. Yueh was traitor. He acted too naive. "Oh Suk conditioning and Atreides honour are unbreakable," he thought. Mistake. However, in any event, he was very good leader and very supportive father even in the most difficult situations. He knew that he would die but he never gave up. Even when the occasions he constantly thinking about his death, he lived and stayed strong for his beloved ones as if he would not die any time soon. Paul's burden was far heavier than his parents but with that amount of superpowers his capacity to lift peculiar events larger than Jessica and especially Duke Leto. Plus this did not mean that he should have left two infants in chaotic atmosphere of Jihad Empire. He made her sister Alia so stressful as well. He increased the degree of chaotic events which would only be mended by that grueling Golden Path. However, he could not enter the GP either. So he escaped, did not fight. Because he was too broken and spiritually died shortly after Chani passed away. He was not as consistent as his mother.

@@hypatia137 Great and detailed explanation for the 3 characters. And even then so much more to tell but youtube comment section its not an ideal place to write all these thoughts and facts.Dune is a great book and also for my opinion a pretty close representation of what and how will humans evolve and entire cultures and civilization. But unfortunately we won't be here to see and live those moments.

Paul was the catalyst for upsetting the established order, creating and uniting enemies. This has to happen before Leto II is able to continue in the new order. I think without Paul's intervention, House Atreides would be gone forever so I humbly disagree. He is the first and foremost the savior of House Atreides
@jurgertmarkaj79332 жыл бұрын
@@muratcristanbul This is a pretty long and detailed discussion that must be taken in order to tell you that he is not.Yeah he might be the one that started the Jihab against the established order but as he himself also has said in the books when he met his son Leto II that he wasn't supposed to be the Kwisatz Haderach and not the one that would lead humanity to the Golden path but his son Leto II,he was something else as he recalled.I would say a mistake because he wasn't supposed to be born by Jessica but Jessica chose to give birth to Boy instead of a girl because he loved Leto Atreides and he wanted to give him a heir for his legacy and empire of Atreides.As much as I love his character,he is not the Kwisatz Haderach but something similar and close to it.Because being the Kwisatz Haderach isn't just having the memories of all your ancestors and also knowing the past future and present but also being willing to sacrifice your own life,family and many more that you dare for in order to save humanity and lead it to its Golden path.

@Hypatia Paul's personality and characteristics was hugely inspired by the way, ideas and practice of House Altredies, especially his father. He is never a part of BG, and thats why he was so conflicted in making decisions on establishing the Golden Path. He awakes, and trying to prove his visions wrong all the time, but he failed again and again. That's why the moment Chani passed away, he had enough of being the 'chosen one', and choose to be nothing at the end, hence exile himself into the desert. Leto II able and willing to make the tough choices in establishing the Golden Path is due to his lack of his very own individuality. In an essence, Leto II is all Jessica, Leto, and Paul combined due to his awakening back in his infancy. In the novel he often treat his own thought as a council of great man having discussion on decision makings. The distinct differences between Paul and Leto II is what making the series great, as it dives into the inner thought process and struggle of the characters, allowing us to immerse into the shoes of the characters instead of having the same old main character dealing with the issues perfectly and saving everyone in the end without actual sacrifice.

What would have been really cool if some of the voices he heard, were voices that spoke in current day languages. Like imagine one of the voices saying *"RISE."* in Aramaic, Greek, Gaelic, Latin or German or Any other language. Like imagine you are watching the movie and suddenly you hear a voice, in your own language commanding or telling paul to rise as the Kwisatz Haderach. Like (German) "ERWACHE." Or (Greek.) "SIKOTHEÍTE." Would have made it slightly cooler than it already was.
