BRAAP comes from the noise the two stroke engine produces. Quad riders can use the saying too." I remember when Yamaha came out with the first four-stroke open class bikes, and everyone was telling me how awesome they were. I’m old enough to remember the old big bore Maicos and Bultacos and they were absolute monsters too, - Maico in particular were years ahead of their time. Sitting on their tails when racing meant getting shot blasted with sand, mud, pebbles, rocks and boulders - and the long travel suspension they had (10”, maybe 11 inches, back when CRs and RMs had 7) made sure that back wheel was ALWAYS pressing into the track. Christ, being in your 20s and racing ….. oh the memories.
@philhughes38822 жыл бұрын
I always thought four strokes would make great dirt bike engines, - except for the weight, after using nothing but two strokes, they just feel so heavy. That said, back in the REAL olden days, blokes would race Triumph Bonnevilles and Matchless 500s etc (with vaguely knobby tyres) and they weighed about 9,000lbs so your KTM would be a relative featherweight. Enjoy yourself.
