This save me a right ball ache! Another garage set it up wrong and the spring was rubbing on the inner wing! Nice one 🤘

NOTE: The ball joint separator requires forks that are at least 27 mm wide, and the top arm should be of a low profile. Standard vehicle size (19mm) wont get around the ball. Hope that helps.

Yes I am in the middle of doing mine, I got all the right tools apart from the ball joint separator. I got one from Machine Mart but it was too small, can't find any places that deal with the 27mm forks. Any links you can point me to would be appreciated. Every bolt has fought against me, tie rods had to be ground off and bolt that holds the shocker to the steering knuckle snapped off so have to see if I can drill that out

@@mauricebarnett6951 I don't know that there is a fork or separator that works. I'm sorry it's a while ago, I think I put the nut back on, screwed it to within a couple of mm of touching, and beat the heck out of it. These cars fight every inch in every job.

@@jeffkeith637 thanks anyway, still not finished the job and it's impossible to beat the heck out of the ball joint , drive shafts in the way

@@mauricebarnett6951 it's depressing isn't it. But when you overcome it's great. The wish bones have to be depressed further than seems possible to get the drive shafts out of the back of the hub - LR uses a special tool. I used a three foot long 1 inch galvanised pipe iirc.

What tools are you using there please?

Hi what ball joint splitter are you using? My standard one isn’t large enough
@jeffkeith6375 жыл бұрын
I measured the ball as 27mm, my standard separator forks are only 19mm wide. Darn.

I have a LR2 2008 HSE. What struts does it use my car? Please share the model, series or part number!

Hi, Can you clarify the alignment? at 5:35 min, you show that the spring spacer must be rotate by 8° leftwise, is this for the right or the left strut? must the opposite side strut be rotater rightwise by 8°. Many thanks for the video, realy helpful
