I think I have seen all your videos of Kyiv and just loved them. Well, I had the privilege of visiting Kyiv in late August 2018 and just fell in love with this city!!! I was so sad when I had to leave to come back to America, but this video brings back so many wonderful memories of this magnificent city. I want so much to get back there and experience her splendors once again. Thank you for posting, this video just warms my heart and makes me long to be back there once again!!! @@louisecorchevolle9241 It is my understanding that Kiev is the Russian word for the city while Kyiv is the Ukranian word for the city. I grew up during the cold war era so was always used to seeing it as Kiev until it was pointed out to me by Ukrainians that "Kyiv" is what they now use since they gained Independence. If you go to Independence Square, there is a big sign there that says "I ♡ Kyiv". It is spelled KYIV, not KIEV. It has been pointed out to me by Ukrainians that they say Kyiv, not Kiev. I hear people say "the Ukraine", that's incorrect. It's just Ukraine. To use the word "the" before Ukraine (from what I've read) is offensive to Ukrainians. Ukraina is the old Slavic word for "borderland" and to use the "the" before Ukraine implies that Ukraine is just a part of Russia and not an Independent nation I use Kyiv to honor the people of Ukraine that want it called Kyiv. It is their country, an independent country and we should honor what they say is correct. If there are any Ukrainians reading this post, please correct me if I am wrong in anything I have written. Kyiv is 1500 y old , this video concentrated mostly on people, but if u are interested in history, beautiful places they are in abundance there : centuries old churches, cathedrals , shining golden domes , many museums .....U gotta visit and see it for yourself. Another Ukrainian city that is a gem : Lviv.

English it has no Accademy who takes care of the rules of the language like in France, Sweden, Russia..To see if english is correct use Oxford dictionnary there it is KIEV. and it is written : in Ukrainian it is KYIV. All tourists say Kiev in a city 80% is russophone. In french to say Moskva we say Moscou!!!. In whole it is Kiev, sorry

И село Мирное люблю,.. а какой там лес!,.. и мОре, мОре земляники и аисты там, на столбе, уже 100 лет живут... а может, даже 1000 лет, представляете! Там много берез. Когда синее небо, белые облака и белые березы то - очень красиво, потому-что трава ведь зеленая, а подсолнухи жeлтые и петух орет как пьяный и совсем счастливый. Долго тянет последний слог. Я уже думаю: Да он сейчас издохнет нахрен. Нет, не здох. Закончил свой вокал, тряхнул гребнем и пошел степенно - грудь впред, крылья за спину... Сразу видно - самец! Вот как там красиво! Yes, Staline was georgian with Beria, holmodor was implemented by them aswell and by ukrainian Lazare Kaganovitch,. Trotski was from Ukraine and Krutchev, and Tchernenko and Brejnev made is career in Dnipro ( Dnepropetrovsk) But all nations and countries of USSR suffered of Bolchevik dictatorship

I am so excited, my flight to Kyiv leaves on 25 August 2019 out of Dulles International in DC and will land at Boryspil on 26 August. I can't believe I am returning to Kyiv and get to see it again!!!! It's only for a week, but hey, I'll take it. I'm going to love being back on Poshtava Square and just being there!!!!
