People in the trenches have to lose their egos to survive. So, in that sort of an environment talent and ability speak for themselves. Your social background can't make you a great NBA player. Meanwhile, the media mostly consists of yuppies who would normally thumb their noses up at someone like AI in normal society. They would erroneously assume that they're better humans than he is.

Ray Allen wasn't even a primarily 3-ball guy until he hit his late 20s? He was an slasher who had as sweet shooting stroke who could extend it to the 3-point line. But past his 30s when his athleticism left him, his 3-ball became a more important weapon for a specialized role.

He was loved here in Chicago. This guy kyle korver one of the reasons why derrick rose shoots the ball better today. He taught rose shooting mechanics during bulls practices. Today rose is shooting the ball better than ever cause of kyle. Korver’s IQ to the game and shooting was too good such a smart player he was too. Met him in person here in Chicago during the 2011 season and he’s such a nice guy very humble. He was a true professional sharpshooter. He is one of those players that can fit in any system . Kyle Korver was one of the best shooters in the game. It's too bad he never won a championship. I recall him having amazing shooting nights when he played for the Atlanta Hawks. He'd come in and make multiple three-point shooters. The problem was, most coaches didn't utilize him and they certainly didn't believe in him. It's insane to have a 3-point shooter like Kyle and you don't set plays so he can make 5-6 shots from the arc a night.

I remember when the Four Seasons hotel was on the parkway in Philadelphia and NBA Teams stayed there, the players would come out from the side of it to get on the bus and people would be there to get autographs there was a guy that was 20 years old that had a picture of him as a 5 year old and Kyle Korver and he had it autographed by him it was cool,Kyle was laughing

The media and league put so much effort in discrediting AI and painting a different picture of him as selfish. I'll never forget how AI put his small skinny frame against 2s and 3s to set screens for young Kyle.

Wow this the longest that I heard Korver speak! We definitely knew that we had something special when Kyle korver came to us. The first few seconds of the interview he said that nobody else could shoot on the team.. and makes us 76ers long time fans that much more pissed and better about the front office. We all knew that they weren't surrounding Iverson with the tools to succeed but this and many other things confirms are suspicions. I believe he still should have had at least three trophies and it's unfortunate that he didn't but his impact on the game and the culture of the game is of legendary status!
