Loved watching all the vids on this Astro Van Conversion. I would like to add my two cents if you allow me. On the window motors, I discovered years ago that the motor gear grease works it way up the motor since they didn't install a seal. The grease gets on and around the brushes and commutator and thus creates a temporary insulator and prevetion of electricity operating the motor. Simple long term fix is as follows. Remove motor from door. gently pry side retainer tangs away from plastic connection. Gently pull plastic end and motor out of the body/casing. Using contact cleaner or brake cleaner to spray off all the grease around the brushes and commutator. Let dry and re-install and bend the tangs back into place. Motor will work again for years!

Lol he didn't say he was going to tow with it. Just bike racks
@Finnspin_unicycles5 жыл бұрын
@@FuttBuckerByMutt Well, I've seen tow hitches rated to 2000 pounds that are substantially more beefy. Everytime the trailer is braking or accelerating there is more load on the hitch than the tongue weight should ever be.

I have some tips for that weber 38, If you guys are having issues with tuning the opal. The stock jets are likely not calibrated for your application. They haven't updated the stock jetting in 40 years, and today's fuel doesn't hold up. Buy a jet kit, it will help trim up your fuel. Also that carb is extremely sensitive to the float being set wrong, and it is common for it to be out of spec from the factory. Your needle drop should be about 2 mil, and the float should top out around 44 mil from the gasket surface.
@heyzoos-cgr93695 жыл бұрын
It's a SOLEX carb. Cool content Kyle :)
@Ian.G2565 жыл бұрын
The one they installed is a weber 38 DGES. You can tell because it has those 2 synchro gears on the throttle shafts. Sucks for them though, they will have to remove the carb everytime they want to swap idle jets. I would be amazed if they got it to run right without having to change jetting.

add another bar that mounts the top of that hitch to the frame. that's a lot of moment load for those little bolts and the already bent bars. you can put the bar behind the sign too so you don't have to modify your cover plate.
