If anyone is wondering, no cardio doesn't take away from muscle gains if it's a low/ moderate pace. If it's a normal pace where you aren't exhausting yourself and you do it for 20-30 minutes you won't sacrifice any muscle.

I got a peloton about 4 months ago to get back into shape, but I’m now considering incorporating some lifting to add muscle.
@Emptyssify3 жыл бұрын
When I lift my heartrate is sometimes at 170 bpm especially after Leg press, and I am raking it to complete failure. Never doing that long steady cardio again. I get 44+ active zone minutes on my fitbit each workout. It has definitely had an effect on my cardio. It basically is an HIIT session. Recommend.

High rep leg workouts to failure are very good tools for conditioning.

I go bouldering at an indoor gym for 2-3hrs 3 times a week and then for cardio I do 3 days of boxing on my back patio, 8x3min rounds, 1min rest just on a heavy bag. Works for me right now, moving in a month and gonna be looking to kick it up a gear with my roommate as a gym buddy 💪🏼

Hint: what your GOOD at is usually what your strong at, what your BAD at is usually what your weak at. Always do what your bad at first cuz you won't be strong enough to do it at the end. Plus you'll get multiple times more out of it so it won't be a weak point long.

@@frigidowl6492 why not? My dad is over 50, can do 135 for reps and has only been lifting for about 3 years. He only weighs like 170lbs. It’s perfectly realistic
@davidgolbeck2942 жыл бұрын
135s? Do you mean barbell pressing 135lbs ? Or do you mean pressing the 135lb dumbbells? Your phrasing of the sentence is confusing. A 135lb barbell press is incredibly easy and beginner level.

Heartrate isn't an indicator of burning calories when lifting. Do you really think that taking lots of stims and sitiing on a couch with high heartrate is gonna burn the same calories as doing cardio on no stims with the same heartrate within the same amount of time? Lifting and lifting hard and strenuously will burn only 100-150 calories, watch Greg Doucette, he explains the science and research behind it.

If you aren’t “stable enough”….drop the weight lower and get the form and weight right
@9160093 жыл бұрын
Also heart health is not necessarily health as you get too much left ventricular growth from too much steroids. I think it's caused by you working out long-term while taking steroids, and steroids make you grow... but your heart is a muscle. So it will grow also. It's too long to explain but you get the idea 💡.
