Of course you can't compare to Marilyn performance in the movie. First it took them 4 and 1/2 days to finish that sequence. Second Marilyn was dubbed in the difficult parts. This on the other hand was live and with a real singer.

1. Stop hating on Kylie. BOTH Kylie and Marilyn are AMAZING WOMEN. Props to them BOTH on both of their performances--regardless of rehearsal times given! 2. Yes, it's lipsynched--to her own voice. And the video/sound is off here, so that's why it looks bad. 3. Kylie's not as curvy as Marilyn, but she's BEAUTIFUL nonetheless. Keep in mind, she's very petite--only 5' tall! So of course she's not gonna be super curvy. Each woman has their own remarkable beauty, though. :)

I totally agree with SHIPOOPI who says that to those who say that Monroe could not act, must see the film 'Bus Stop'....as she is an amazing actress in this film, not just there for her looks or a caricature of herself. As far as this video is concerned, I think she does well, and I researched a bit and it is her voice...whether she is syncing I don't know as oft times the voices here run a moment behind or ahead. Music lovers, please note something off-beat: the opening orchestral intro is a telling reference to Ravel's La Valse, a commentary on the decadence of the waltz form.
