personally i like AI Chiaki from DR2 way better than anime chiaki but yeah kyoko is a better character due to actual background surrounding her character rather than the stuff we got in chaki's free time events that may or may not be true and the few character moments in DR3 but if we dont go into free time events and the novels i definitely enjoyed chiaki more than kyoko probably cause chiaki was made to be as charasmatic as she was specifically for the 5th and 6th trials

I can't see her as waifu as she personally bored me as a character since I think her emotionless personality was boring in the cast of Dr1 I have nothing against emotionless characters but the way Kyoko was she felt more like a plot device with how she kept saving everyone's butts since they realized Makoto was too stupid at many moments She's pretty cool on her own but I got bored with her in the Danganronpa cast

Omnipotiscience Yeah but in all honesty that’s not very entertaining. Cold fronts can be cool but in the cast of DR1 she failed to stand out as anything but that who saves our butt cause we’re dumb. Her cold front does somewhat appeal to me but she definitely needed more moments of actually showing emotion for me to hold her in the stool the fandom does. Not to disregard your opinion though this is just my two cents

My favorite character of all of Danganronpa! She is such a good character and I really do feel bad for her every now and again with the way things work out. I cried some much when that one moment with her during the Danganronpa 3 anime, you know which one I'm talking about, because of how it came up. She was set up to make that happen because we all know she never would have done anything to make it not happen. I just love her character so much and am always rooting for her when she's in trials. Also I ship Makoto and Kyoko. They're just so cute together and I really think he brings out the emotions that she tries to hide away.

I will never stop screaming about how much I love Danganronpa Kirigiri. The way Yui tries to constantly reassure Kyoko on any kind of doubts she has of herself was so sweet. Their relationship really reminds me of two sisters.

What’s pretty funny is that my cousin’s middle name is Kyoko which is pretty ironic because she’s cold and distant but I really just see her as a sister. Kyoko was also a part of Japan before they changed the name to Kyoto which is full of cherry blossoms so that kinda explains the sort of elegance of her aura... And in most traditional families are learning first then feelings later on that leads people like her to be inspired by the hard work and persistence of her grandfather

Really great analysis! I enjoyed it a lot, Kirigiri is my favorite character by far in the entire series so I love hearing other people's takes on her character and I think you captured a very excellent understanding of her. Just one thing. The person that lets Kyouko "do anything for the sake of detective work" is actually her maternal grandfather, Tohachiro Uzuchi (master of 8? fighting styles) he taught Kyouko how to beat shit up. However this was revealed in the later novels which you said you didn't get to read. Her paternal grandfather, Fuhito is overseas (at least in the second novel) and is *very* unemotional and professional as you assumed. Lots of praise for you and this analysis! Oh and additionally, throughout Dangan ronpa Kirigiri, Kyouko asks if being a triple zero detective is the same as being recognized for your abilities and she makes that her goal. Additionally her grandfather isn't in the detective library, which makes it seem like her joining is a personal thing for recognition and accomplishment as a detective.

I dont know about this but the narrative behind kiri for me was love at first sight...from the moment that I experienced her interactions just by watching the anime and gameplay just connect me deeply that there is more to this girl than I thought she is mysterious and cold hearted in a neutral way, normally not many people would interest that but for me..it felt strange like I like her being smart, mysterious and cold hearted it draws me close, eager to find out who she really is and what she is thinking. I just started watching this and they're so well made. They really give me insight into their complicated personalities. But could you please, please PLEASE do one on Fuyuhiko. I know he's one of the 'less popular' characters but out of everyone from the whole series he was the one that made me feel the strongest connection-- like I needed him to stay alive. I think I love him so much because of the way he developed throughout the game. He went from my actual least favorite to my favorite. There's something very realistic in the way he puts up a front to hide his true personality. However, it might be better if you did a video on both him and Peko since her motivations are still hazy, and their relationship goes back so far! Sorry that was long~ thanks!
