MP9e Evo is an electric powered model that achieves even more dynamic performance through an advanced chassis layout and body design. “The highly regarded flat control and aerial posture of the previous model has been maintained”, “while a forward weight shift has improved balance for superior handling”. ****In addition, ***subtle changes to the ***battery mount*** “create” a *lower center of gravity* that “combines” with the race-tested body design to deliver superior cornering, traction, and rough surface performance. (In other words a forward mounted battery and lower body impress a lower COG but the actual chassis has no bearing on height). The MP9e Evo is the key to racing glory. In other words not much has changed. Battery pushed forward and the weight transferred creates a lower center of gravity not that the pan itself has been changed and let me see, no wheels, no radio, no motor, no esc, etc... all for another $100 plus over the RTR kit. Seems to me anyone with skills in this industry can move their battery forward, tweak their steering, drop a different body that sits lower, and the wing of their choice, and perhaps of skilled enough make a platform that not only performs as well but better for that $100 plus budget and yet have a running buggy. Even buying a quality motor and esc they’d still be under budget from the expense of the Evo. Gotta love marketing tactics “all new innovative design”, “engineering upgrades”, etc.., etc.., every companies ploy to make a few extra dollars and offer less amenities is always the goal in profitablity. Smart on kyosho’s behalf for sure. And don’t forget that pro driver and a quality video with a spikes person convincing enough to manipulate the wording so you think your getting more for the money. Frankly I’m not sold and suspect any decent driver can take a modded rtr model and pull home a trophy just as easy as the one who claims the evo is the clear winner.

Glenn Edward except the rtr has Phillips hardware..plastic hinge pin arm holders ... stamped aluminum towers that bend and stamped aluminum chassis instead of milled 7075 parts .. not as adjustable and different geometry . So yes you get a lot more for your money with the kit . And it does come with wheels and a body . The rtr electronics aren’t the best for racing either so your point is completely invalid... there is a reason they cost what they do . If you don’t like don’t knock it.

Hello, do any of the other mp9 bodies fit this car I.e. mp9e tki or tki4? I messed my body up and no one seems to have replacements yet. So instead of it sitting I would like to use one of the other bodies if possible. Thank you!

“Best hard anodizing?” Don’t know any 8th scale with bad anodizing. Pretty durable on Mugen and Tekno.

It already is. Our company sells them for $679 but I see no real advantage over the rtr other than an entire weekend trimming plastic, painting, and assembling and another $500 spent to make it run.

Glenn Edward rtr has shit quality, and shit equipment, crappy servo, crappy built. Super thin shock towers and heavy steel, vs titanium. Rtr is never has quality parts of kit versions.

one4all so with the more expensive put together kit you have to buy a servo, electronics, some kits even wheels and bodies, assembly of course and pay $200 more. You’re telling me you couldn’t sell the parts you removed and at minimum gain an extra $100 now having a $300 difference in budget mind you to buy even better parts, carbon fiber chassis, shock towers, servo, and a quality motor and esc you’d probably have $450. So the kit you think that $150 is going to get all theses upgrade and electronics? Regardless if my estimations are exact the point is still there. I probably shouldn’t say this but I work for one of those companies that manufactures Rc’s and we’re all well aware of the marketing ploys. There is a sucker for every popsicle out there and a company to cater to gluten free, sugar free, and natural flavors. Everyone will have an option and be sold because they hear aircraft grade or whatever. Unknowing aircraft grade pertains to just about every alloy out there depending where it exists on the plane. I hate to say it but you can always do better and I see people surpass so called competition grade all the time. Bottom line it comes down to the skill and knowledge of the consumer. Most can barely tie their own shoes let alone fabricate or swap to quality parts. Interesting topic we’re always laughing whenever another rolls out the door. 80/20 rule. Always get an 80% ROI and marketing will assure that you do.

Glenn Edward some people are so clueless. Skill is important. But how does one beat someone with a better car if they are of the same skill? They can’t. That’s why Cavalieri and Maifield were rivals when they were a team. Right after Maifield moved to tlr, with his 8ight he was blowing away Cavalieri. Buddy it’s not about driving perfectly. It’s about improving little by little. Not even the worlds best are perfect drivers. If they were then they wouldn’t need marshaling. Stock rtr tires and servos always leave one wanting more. Building rc is part of the fun. But $700 for a kit is ridiculous to me when the best, Tekno eb48.4 kit, sells for $550. Most durable, best at jumping and landing, and super strong yet stable steering. You’d be breaking or wearing out slower crappier rtr parts and spending more. And when they do break you’d be spending money for the same thin and weak shock tower or spend much more for the kit version’s parts. Some cars are fast while being easy or hard to drive. Some cars are slow, easy or hard to drive. Depends what you’re doing. If bashing then maybe it’s okay to get an rtr, but not for racing. You don’t want to be at a disadvantage with a slower or fragile car that can’t finish races. Those with less skill always do better with Tekno. The skilled prefer losi or Mugen.
