what? im not japanese but some family members are and its p much always okay to eat while walking in crowded places, otherwise you mess with the trafic of the area. its actually recommended to eat while walking in places like tsukiji fish market and other food places because 1- the smell of food is already everywhere and 2- you dont wanna be a bother to people on the move

I am going to Japan in April! Still piecing together my itinerary. Should I plan to spend more time in Osaka or Kyoto? Already spending plenty of time in Tokyo!
@juandenz20088 жыл бұрын
Well it depends how long you have in total. For tourists on their first time to Japan I would recommend spending more time in Kyoto as it has a lot of nice temples and gardens and isn't as busy or built up as Osaka. Osaka has a lot of good stuff, but it is a city based on commerce and manufacturing. Kyoto is more oriented around culture and tourism IMO. Keep in mind that Kyoto and Osaka are very close, so I would just book into accommodation in Kyoto, and then if you feel like going to Osaka just take the 30 minute train ride. This is just my opinion though, other people might disagree.

I know that when I started cooking Japanese meals, I was really surprised at how sweet so many of the dishes were. Even the ubiquitous seasoning stock that is used for everything from udon to dipping sauces is made with dashi, mirin, sake and sugar. Just never expected it.

Yeah, salty/sweet is a basic combination of flavours in Japanese food. You get used to it.

Sandy Prater What's interesting is their historically low issues with obesity, diabetes etc. It's not about the sugar you eat, but a/ getting enough exercise for your body (which varies from person to person) which easily includes comfortable paced walking and daily callasthenics, b/ eating only good quality natural fats rather than hydrogenated vegetable fats and poor quality animal fats and c/ eating as wide a variety of fruits, veg, meat, fats, dairy, starches, cereals etc as you can.
@annainspain51768 жыл бұрын
