You are truly citizens of the world. Thank you for understanding our attitude of sacrifising animals. We rarely sacrifice horses on serious events like funeral or wedding, but we prefer cows. I can assure you 80-90% of those horses you saw on market are not for sacrifice. We use them as helpers at farm or just ride them. I mean we just love horses. (i used my best english ability i ve learned at school for this comment so don't judge)))

Green summer in Kyrgyzstan🇰🇬 lasts about 4 months, golden and red autumn - 3 months, snowy winter - 2 months, and spring is quite blooming, especially when numerous apricots bloom with pink flowers. All seasons of the year are well expressed here. The climate is very pleasant. The sun rises at about 5am, light until 10pm in summer

Very nice. The family was very nice. They really enjoyed having you. It’s amazing how cultures vary all over the earth. I do eat lamb but I season it to get the gamely taste out. Continue safely on your journey. Thank you🙏
@kanakubatov5508Ай бұрын
Now I live in Russia and I can say that the taste of lamb is radically different from the fact that in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 on the plain, lamb meat is seasoned so that it tastes better and has a less specific taste. In Kyrgyzstan, they don’t add anything other than salt, because the taste is truly magnificent, and hiding the taste behind spices is a real crime😅

Hello my Friends! What a wonderful view into the local culture there. The overlap between Asians grass lands and mountain people is wonderful. There is a sense of the people of inner Mongolia in China where family I knew there raised huge herds of sheep and the people of Tuva on their horses. A great music band called Hung Gai from that region blending rock and traditional music including throat singing. These markets could be in parts of middle America. What a great pleasure to experience. Thank you so much!

What a great experience with your host family. We are very desensitised to where our meat comes from and as Flora said all of our food deserves more respect. Eating freshly slaughtered meat is not for everyone but in a way everyone should try it at least once.

Guys I’m falling in love with you, you are such a lovely couple❤❤❤ Sincere respect and love to our neighbours Kyrgyzstan. That sheep no way could cost 100 000 soms. Anywhere in central asia just say Salem(salom, salam) and Rahmet(rahmat) which means hello and thank you, and everybody will understand you. That hat fits you perfectly, you look 100% local with it. Karakol is one of the best places in the world to ski, such an amazing and gorgeous views open from Karakol slopes.

@alediqueАй бұрын
let me clue you guys in - the male sheep (big one) is used as a breeding ram and his price is dictated by his exterior and genetics, it was middle class one though some could go up to 10k USD easy. Horses are the most expensive males for breeding go up to 20-30k, the ones for riding and racing go up to millions.

Welcome to Kyrgyzstan and my hometown, Karakol! You are so positive, and I wish you a pleasant journey. It was very amusing to watch your reaction at the livestock market, and I hope you didn't experience any culture shock)) I love animals very much, and since childhood, it has been hard for me to witness sacrifices, so I completely understand you. I would like to recommend visiting Lake Issyk-Kul, the Jeti-Oguz Gorge, the waterfalls in Barskoon, and the "Swallow's Nest" hot spring in Altyn Arashan - all of these are near Karakol. I also suggest visiting other lakes in Kyrgyzstan, and if you have time and the opportunity, make sure to see the beautiful Kel-Suu Lake, surrounded by mountains in the Naryn region.
@sgraham005Ай бұрын
Amazing that you guys decided to go to Kyrgyzstan. Thanks for taking us along. Hey guys FYI they aren't all cows they are called cattle collectively. Among cattle are cows and bulls (intact males) and steers (castrated). Fat-rumped sheep in Kyrgyzstan have immense fat deposits in their butts - the fat is called Kurdyuk and is are delicious. Not sure why your was gamey must be the way the family prepared it. Interesting market and episode. Totally agree in the West we have disconnected from our food source(s).

Despite living in neighbouring counties I didn't know that Kyrgyz beshparmak ("five fingers") is made of noodle like pasta. We, in Kazakhstan, have a more plain, square shaped pasta, like in lasagna :) Also, we don't pour sorpa (soup/broth) on top of it. Just serve it separately in a bowl.
@kanakubatov5508Ай бұрын
my brother is Kazakh, we also have a version of beshbarmak with flat pieces of dough called "chelpek" or "zharkop", there is a version with small flat pieces in the form of soup with vegetables called "mampar"😅 Not surprising, because we are almost one people💪☺️🇰🇬🇰🇿
