Kyrie is playing like the best pg so far, isaiah is injured, crowder doesn't fit the coaching system, cavs one of the worst defensive teams and celtics having one of the best records... So far Celtics winning this trade. They gave up a guy who I thought should have been top 3 in MVP voting, and two other players that could start for most other teams. For Kyrie? Really? Nothing else? I think Isaiah right now is better than Kyrie. But for the sake of the argument let's just say they are tied. The Cavs added some depth for the upcoming season (w/ fire power on the bench) while pretty much keeping roughly the same amount of talent in their starting lineup. The main difference I see between Kyrie and Isaiah is size which yes, does make Isaiah more of a liability. They're pretty close though. Meanwhile BOS improved on offense (especially with the Heyward upgrade) and lost a little defense. If you're looking at building purposes the Celtics are doing decent but I still don't think it's that close of a series between CLE and BOS for the upcoming season. It will make things interesting in terms of story line if nothing else though... 😂 also don't sleep on D Rose. He's got something to prove next season!

Compared to the Paul George, Butler, CP3 and Boogie trades, this was the best trade for both teams. It's the most a team has gotten for a superstar and its the best possible outcome for the Celtics. They still have the Lakers or Sac pick next year or the next year. They still have assets to build around Kyrie with Paul George and Boogie available next summer. I love this trade as a Celtics fan and as a basketball fan. It puts Cleveland in a better position and the Celtics....

I think the main issue with the whole pick situation is that: a) its completely unprotected (in a likely top 5 pick) and, b) both Butler and PG fit the needs of the celtics better in the short term and either could have been had with the top pick on the table (as far as we know). There is also the issue with Kyrie's situation. Cleveland had little leverage and the Phoenix package of Bender plus Bledsoe seemed to be the next best thing. However, the trade basically sets the Cavs up both for the present (still competitive even though IT is not as good as Kyrie) and for the future for whether LeBron stays or goes, the trade was perfect for them. Finally, there is the issue of what Boston really gains in terms of ground in the conference by benefiting the cavs this much in a trade. At this rate it appears that the price for a small step above last year may be too high, especially if it is still not enough to take down LeBron. Of course, if Kyrie really does take a leap then maybe we will all be made to think differently.

God you people are stupid. First of all, he had a garbage team and he was in his first couple of seasons in the NBA. No one wins in those circumstances unless they're a top 5-10 talent of all time. No one is saying Kyrie is that. Lebron was able to do that because he is one of those players. I don't even like Irving or the Cavs. Those are just facts. The truth is that Kyrie is an elite scorer and a pretty good playmaker. He has plenty of experience in big moments and has a pretty nice 2 year deal left. The Brooklyn pick will be a top 10 pick but it's no guarantee whatsoever that it'll be a top 5 pick, let alone the number 1 pick like people are assuming. No one got fleeced in this deal. Both teams benefit from it.

Here's my opinion. They didn't want to overpay a 29 year old with a hip injury. The Cavs won't be able to resign Lebron and Isaiah Thomas. He will leave and this trade will turn into crowder and the pick if they don't win the finals. Thank you for what you did Kyrie. I'm waiting to see what the Cavaliers starting lineup will be. Because they could move Crowder at SG even though it's not ideal, also they have some decent bench pieces. The Celtics however, they have very young talent. Smart, Hayward, Irving, Taytum, Rozier, and Brown. Definitely look out for them in the future, because I think they'll be a sleeper team along with the Hornets.
