Not a speck of successful basketball. Or Kyrie is doing those crossovers but to the doctors while they cure his injuries. The "skill" argument is one that always baffles me. I'd heard this way too much in reference to Irving. Basically it is, he can get you a bucket at will, has incredible footwork, incredible handle, and is a great shooter. That's describing a great 1 on 1 player, when the game is about leveraging that skill to add the most value to your team. In that regard, Irving is somewhat of a mixed bag to me. If we talking best 1 on 1 players to ever play the game, sure Irving is up there, but why is this is the default definition in "skill" in reference to basketball when it's not a 1 on 1 game. It's like the game is looked at like 2k attributes when its much more nuanced than that.

Nobody has ever questioned Kyrie's talent that is cap. They question his sanity and his leadership ability. His style of play isn't winning basketball and sometimes it can be inefficient but he plays on a team that's so talented it doesn't matter. But we've seen him in Cleveland by himself and we've seen him in Boston with a good amount of talent we've seen him play inefficient against the Milwaukee Bucks in the playoffs and be the primary reason the Celtics were eliminated. @@Butcherman95 I mean, you don’t really be a better overall player to be the 1st option just the better offensive player, and besides, 2018 Celtics were with Kyrie were a championship caliber team IMO,

and speaking of duo’s, I think kyrie and someone like jimmy butler, Khris Middleton, ben Simmons, etc with a good supporting cast could be in the contender ring

@@kalebburnette7029 so let’s say hypothetically, all teams were built perfect. Can Kyrie and a #2 beat the likes of LeBron/AD, Kawhi/PG or KD/Harden?

Yea and it’s honestly pretty unfair to other guys. Cause lebron is a top 2 player of all time

Lebron has said multiple times he has the talent of an MVP. Its just his super fan base in Cleveland, and Boston fans try to downplay his talent.

I feel like the same criticism they use for kyrie is the same they use for players like curry and harden that they only excel on one side of the ball which isn’t true for any of these guys they often get hammered for having underperformed and while it’s understandable it creates stupid narratives that they aren’t great because haven’t won a fmvp even tho they did literally everything else or that wanting to leave a team means your being selfish if you dribble too much your a ball hog like cmon what happened to enjoying the game instead of finding everything to get mad at

Kyrie a great player all problems started with the so called 'shot' that won the 17 finals. Lebron haters went into overdrive tryna hype kyrie as the most important piece when in objective reality he's just a good side kick. He's not a franchise player but more of a specialist superstar
@adripos3 жыл бұрын
he’s a GREAT side kick, don’t downplay what kyrie did in those finals, it was more than just “the shot”. dude was dropping 41 pts WITH lebron in game 5 of the 2016 finals. I’m not saying Kyrie is a #1 on a championship team but he is a #2 on a championship team, 2016 is the example.

If the Nets win this ring and Kyrie has 2 rings, i think he needs to be mentioned as a top 50 player all time. He has the stats and accolades
@jtg03303 жыл бұрын
Eh, idk about that. I feel like by far the biggest thing that has held Kyrie back is his availability/durability. And he’s only really been a superstar for like 2-3 years. And lastly I think he’s still relatively far away from being a top 10 pg alltime, which makes it hard to say he’s a top 50 player ever
@adripos3 жыл бұрын
@@jtg0330 If irving gets 2 chips with top 2 greatest handle ever, smooth shooter, great finisher at the basketball, clutch when it counts, why wouldn’t he be top 50 all time? he has an ASG MVP, all star appearances, is a 1 man show like allen iverson was, idk it’s close.
