So, I have 16 currently, and DID have 17 at one point, and then it just dropped to 16. No idea why. I'm trying to figure that out. I have: Raven Throne=3, Lox, Wolf, Deer rugs=3, Dragon Bed=2, Brazier=1, Table=1, Chair=2, Hearth=2, Banner=1, Shelter=1 (per the Wiki)....total 16. What am I missing that you're counting that gets 17? I've gone over the list at the Wiki and I'm missing nothing from the list

You can also find shipwrecks in the black forest if you’re willing to risk going in pre-eikthyr. There are also draugr villages that replace normal ruined villages after a certain distance from the center of the world, you can find fine wood in the form of chairs, tables, and stools, as well as very rarely raven thrones for iron nails

The yule tree is available to build. I got it after getting some fir cones after cutting down some fir trees in the Black forest.

So if I'm reading correctly, max comfort level is: 17 without luck or cheating (including lox rug) 18 assuming you find a maypole and build around it 20 if you get everything, find a maypole/build around it + cheat to add a yule tree & jack-o-turnip (jack-o-turnip not mentioned in vid, but exists as well)

Comfort level is hugely important, Huge! The more frequent you refresh your comfort level the better it is for you. Because it’s both a Health and Stamina Regen Buff in essence. Almost everything your doing when away from your home base in the game takes Stamina to do. So the more Stamina you have as well Max Stanina Regen is huge to have. Going mining, raiding enemy camp, exploring thru Forest, all good to have the Comfort buff starting off.

You can access fine wood before the Bronze Age, if you only need a little, and are patient and clever. Knock over some fine wood trees with trees you can chop down, then roll the log into another log over and over. ONLY other logs can damage it, rocks and such won't. Takes a little bit to get some this way, but I was able to get enough for a few fine wood furnishings and fine bow that I used to make taking out the first boss easier.

@@ThrottleKitty you can essentially skip bronze armor, i roll with troll skin up until iron age. And the elder is easily done, just have some stamina food, and kite around the pillers while bowing him.

If you're sleeping every night (or even just resting at home), 23 minutes should be a sufficient rested bonus as that is about the day length if I am not mistaken.

I think the Yule Tree was a seasonal thing and was for the Twitter contest. Might make a return next Christmas time, Maypole is in the world, have to build next to it. Search the meadows you might find a Maypole to boost your comfort.

You can get 18 with all the stuff if you find a Maypole to build around. It does not require cheats, you can find them out in the world and then build around them. That is what I did. I did not know about the Yule tree, if you cheat that in and build around a Maypole, and have all the appropriate comfort items built you can theoretically get to 19.

For the life of me I couldn't figure out why one forward camp had more comfort than the other with identical things inside, but the lower one had an earlier crappy build. I'll rebuild it, I have the technology, I'll make it better, stronger... no freakin wall openings, ffs.

Technically speaking the highest level of comfort possible is 18(if you're lucky) or 19(if you're insanely lucky). The Maypole and Yule Tree can both spawn in villages, and it is possible, but highly unlikely(hence the insanely lucky part) for them to spawn in the same village. If they spawn in the same village, within range of one another, it's possible to get a 19 Comfort rating within the part of their 'bubble' where it overlaps.

Furling Totem? I have found maypoles on roughly 75% of seeds Ive played on. On spawn region in meadows near coast. Remove the bronze age chair and reintroduce stools and benches.

It would be useful to show how placed items of a similar type reduce comfort. I tried deleting all fine wood furniture, but only one extra point of comfort would add back-in with the chair. Same for the bed(s), regular beds seem to eliminate the Raven "bonus". It could be order of placement, not sure. I'm stuck at 13 with all but the wolf rug.

I believe the fire circle is the basic system of the game to check, if you even can get a rested bonus, as it cancels out debuffs like cold and such. However I didn't realize that you could get Comfort 1 without even a shelter...

It's pretty basic, wood and stones or flint. Can pick that stuff up from the ground. Kill some boar for leather and deer for hide. Just need more of the materials and upgrade at a workbench. You are basically limited to A stone axe (need stone to upgrade found on the ground) A flint axe (need flint and leather scraps to upgrade, found on the shore and from Boar respectively) A club (need bone fragments to upgrade found in crypts or skeleton kills) A flint knife (need flint to upgrade, found on the shore) A flint spear (see flint axe for upgrade) The leather armour is made from deer hide and needs deer hide and bone frags to upgrade. He has covered all that stuff already. except the making the stuff but thats just opening the workbench and clicking craft or upgrade.

The benches and the stools are actually bugged, each of them give you -1 comfort so i wouldnt recommend using benches or stools at all.

The comfort level only works in that one building, it has a limited range. So if you make another base, they will have different comfort levels If a base is too big, you could be out of range of some comfort items.
