That's about 50 nations right there at least, that LA has access too. Los Angeles is an older, way larger, and way more racially diverse city than Miami. In my opinion, I think the area, the land, the mountains, the attractions, the landscape is more impressive than Miami BUT the ACTUAL "City" of LA is what ruins LA. If it wasn't for things like DTLA, Skid Row, Figueroa, the Freeway system, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, the Smog, the Fake "materialistic" people, violent people, the gangs, cartels, traffic, theme parks like Six Flags/Disneyland/Universal Studios, drug crisis & homeless epidemic. LA would probably be hands down the absolute best geographical area by landscape, mountains, the beaches & attractions. I think the LA area is more impressive & diverse than Miami. Even the hills & the mountains & the coastline. You can't beat the California coastline. Even just within the Greater LA Metro area, the California coastline, the hills AND mountains are impressive. The only time it gets kinda dull & boring is when you get to the dry 🏜️ desert of the Inland Empire. SoCal southern Coast is extremely impressive though. The outside nature, hiking 🥾 possibilities, beach sports, recreation & activities. Exploring the Mountains in SoCal. Does South Florida have Mountains AND Beaches you can escape to??? Doubt it. However, one thing Miami definitely has over LA is that legitimate TROPICAL 🐠🍹 climate & paradise type of feel. In LA it doesn't quite feel like a legit tropical paradise, even though there's palm trees 🌴 EVERYWHERE & a coastline with many beaches. Miami has more of that tropical dream vacation Caribbean or Hawaii paradise type of feeling & climate. You don't really get that in LA. Miami is more of an "escape" type of island 🏝️ destination but LA has a more diverse climate & topography. The landscape is more diverse as well. Elevation is higher as well so you can drive from the valley to a higher elevation with different types of climates & landscapes. Trees & plant life is different too. Even cacti 🌵 & hilly regions in the greater LA area. You can travel from one to the other. Miami only has ONE type of climate. Which is actually a great thing for people who appreciate that but LA has more diversity in terms of land & climate. LA land is more impressive, in my opinion. I don't really like the City itself though. Politics, People, Crime, Traffic, Smog, Drugs, Corporate Industry etc...etc...I feel like Miami is the better actual "City". The City itself is probably better than LA. LA surrounding areas are probably better than Miami though.

I concede Miami is probably the better City overall & it's actually positioned right next to the Ocean (unlike LA) because you have to drive a couple of miles just to get the the Ocean from DTLA & I think the Port of LA is still a little drive away from DTLA too. The positioning of Miami next to the Ocean AND it's skyline is more impressive than LA, in my opinion. Miami's skyline, skyscrapers & high-rise buildings game is ON POINT. Yes, you're right, the Beaches & quality of the Ocean is better in Miami but the Mountains, Hills, Valleys, Coastline, Rock formations & proximity to the desert 🏜️ AND the Ocean 🌊 just an hours drive?? In my opinion? You CAN'T beat it! The tropical island vibe & skyline infrastructure in Miami is next level & top tier but to me? LA is better in landscape/geography diversity. You have & can enjoy virtually EVERY climate within the LA area. But the actual City of LA? DTLA & all it's smog, drugs, homelessness, fakeness, materialism, politics, traffic & everything else? Is absolutely disgusting. LA itself, as a City kinda sucks. All of it's horrors & problems. However, everything else surrounding the City? Is quite heavenly. If only LA was less populated (like cut in half), less traffic, less crime, less gangs, less cookie-cutter, less suburban sprawl, less superficial, less plastic, less Hollywood etc....it would most likely be a better City. Miami, up until Covid, was the most unique city in America. It was the only city- as far as I have seen- that allowed minorities to run the place. New York City may be a melting pot, with all kinds of cultures living on top of each other, but it’s definitely still owned and operated by Mayflower whites. The city will never shake off its roots. LA may be a city dominated by black and Latino (mainly Mexican) culture, but the whites that have power have ALL the power. Miami, though, the Cubans, Colombians, and Venezuelans that came in totally rewrote the rules and they OWN that city. Or, at least they did until all the tech bros and New Yorkers came down and started slinging even more money around to terraform the city to their liking over the past five years. Because of that, Miami has started to lose most of its flavor. Prior to Covid, the best way I would describe Miami to people was “it’s like New York City was in the 90’s.” It was a little grimy, a little slick, and inexpensive enough for young people with good ideas to be making cool shit happen. Now, it’s becoming more like NYC in the 2010’s, with all the institutions being erased to make room for luxury high rise condos, where wealthy Israelis and Russians can buy apartments they will never use. I haven’t been to LA in nearly 20 years, though, so I’m curious as to how it has changed.

The contrast of your description & comparison almost reminds me of things I've heard about Dubai, lol. I wonder 🤔 if Miami & Dubai have certain characteristics in common. Genuinely curious. Anyway, I think a lot has changed in Los Angeles over the past 20 years. I haven't been in about 10 years to LA but I've watched several dozen documentaries & local news stories on Roku about LA & I keep hearing & seeing DRASTIC changes being made to LA. Especially the downtown central business district part of LA. Big Changes. Same goes for San Francisco, in that respect. Kinda difficult to describe since the problems & challenges are very complex & complicated now. But I feel like if you went back to visit LA anytime soon, you'd probably see & feel the difference instantly. Some things have probably stayed the same that you might remember but for the most part? I'm fairly confident most of it is unrecognizable, unfortunately. But like I said..... it's actually been approximately 10 years since I've been to LA so I'm sure things have changed just in those 10 years of me not being there as well. I keep hearing it's pretty bad though so most likely it's not in great shape.

LA has more diverse landscapes. Mountains ⛰️, beaches , everything. The weather is not as hot and humid . Miami has WAYYYY better beaches. Clear water, cleaner streets, more walkable. Also is more of a international travel hub considering it’s proximity to the Caribbean, South America and its closer to Europe than California is. Both has pros and cons 😊

And I say this as a South Florida native. Miami is so tiny, and you only go there for one thing. Los Angeles is so expansive and the landcapes are so diverse. The culture and job market and everything else out there is also way more diverse than Miami. Everything in Miami is a derivative of Caribbean and Latin American culture and the hospitality industry. Whereas in LA, you can experience Pan-Asian, Mexican, East African, Black American Creole, Polynesian, Blue Collar, White Collar, Hollywood, Aerospace, cultures.
