Good video! This house is criminally underrated - the top 5 from this house put 90% of current niche houses to shame, imo. Btw Kristo you were 100% right about Traversee du Bosphore; the 'Bosphore' here refers to the Bosporus strait which runs through Istanbul and is part of the continental border between Europe and Asia. Duchafour composed the fragrance whilst in Istanbul.

L'Artisan is my latest house to explore. I purchased old label Safran Troublant and old label Eau Ambre Extreme. Based on Kristo's review, I just ordered Traversee Du Bosphore because I have been looking at several Turkish delight frags and just have not pulled the trigger. I'm interested in exploring the Elena's first. Very happy with my first two frags. There are some discovery sets out there.

I wear Bois Farine to bed. It's comforting. I love how the carrotiness of the iris and the woods combine for that distinct peanutty, doughy smell.

My favorites: Dzing, traversed du Bosphore which to me is like Chanel Misia with leather, Batacuda, and Seville au laube.

Great vid! When I first entered the perfume world, this was one of the first niche houses I learned. I have and love Dzing!, Traversee du Bosphore, Tea for Two, and Mandarina Corsica. Purchased La Chasse Aux Papillons for my wife. Sampled and really enjoyed Seville a l'Aube. Samples waiting for me to try of Bana Banana and L'Eau D' Ambre Extreme. Voleur de Roses was my one and only blind buy and unfortunately, it is a huge turn off for me. I had to laugh when Eugen says he doesn't smell patchouli, as that is all I smell- too much for me. :) I'd have to say Mandarina Corsica is a must smell!!

great house and also great value - particularly when you look into who the perfumers are. 👏

I own Tea For Two and The Pour Un Ete in the older bottles. I got them in TKMaxx here in UK when they had loads of them when the brand underwent re-packaging. Both great tea scents but very different. The Pour Un Ete a great one for the summer. Used to own Mure et Musc Extreme but was only a small bottle and used it up. Must give Timbuktu another try.

Missed your stream :(( I sleep at that time here in EU :))) Love L'Artisan. They did very original fragrance. Traversee du Bosphore, Passage d'Enfer, Seville l’Alube, Dzing, Safran Troublant - love them all. Noir Exquis -nice . Bois Farine is weird on me. Like old bag of dust.

So Eugen gets unwashed ass out of Dzing! and Kristo gets "white pills"...I have to say, I am tempted to blind buy that one out of sheer intrigued confusion alone.

Once had a beautiful boutique in london then the takeover happened. They got rid of the store and focused on their other acquisition Penhaligon and reformulated great scents like Timbuktu. Criminal.

I get strongly similarities between L'eau d'ambre Extreme and Bois d'Armenie, smelling side by side. No surprise since they're both heavy on benzoin, labdanum and vanilla

First niche perfume I ever got was L’Artisan La Chasse aux Papillon EdT and I still love it! (Amazing spring Linden & Tuberose). Also love Safran Troublant & Premiere Figuer (both by Olivia Giocobetti!) Have you tried these? I really want to try the incense one, Passage d’Enfer & now Traversee du Bosphore. I think they were only in Sephora for a hot minute, because I remember I was going to buy one during the bi-annual sales but by then they had disappeared! So less than 9 months (At least in Canada, I think they are at Sephora in France). It would have been nice to get the newer releases easier here!

I have L’eau de Ambre by Karine Dubruile and to me this original comes across like a JCE creation. More light in the depth of the overall composition. I would love to smell the extreme by JCE and see how it compares.

Bois Farine has always reminded me of like peanut butter and baby formula. Can’t do it. Voleurs de Roses is the only on this video that I own. I agree with Eugene- the fruit note reminds me of red wine. It is my HG patchouli tho. It is sharp at first spray- once resting on the skin it gets sweeter and rounder (not as bitter). Not sweet like fruit-choulis- rather, like high percentage cocoa dark chocolate.

Eugen, Ambre Narguile? Is that the Ellena creation you were thinking of? I've never smelled AN, but it's the only other Ellena that comes to mind that isn't about citrus, spice, and wood. The opening of L'eau d'ambre l'extreme actually reminds me of a less impressive Coromandel, probably that's due to the patchouli quotient.

Great video as always! Lately, I've been actually wondering if you had any L'artisans and what you thought about the brand. A couple days later you uploaded the one about Timbuktu! I love their Drole de Roses. I was wearing it against Misia to compare the other day. The drydowns are somewhat similar, although DDR lacks the complexity that Misia has, and also is slightly darker and more dry, less syrupy than Misia. Knowing your love for powdery scents, I'd give it a try! Also, was wondering if you tried anything by Terry de Gunzberg? Their Goutte de Mercure gets bashed on fragrantica but to me is one of the nicest "dirty" and slightly "ugly/earthy" powders! 🤗 Btw. Is L'eau D'ambre anything like Hermes' L'Ambre des Merveilles? I've not smelled the former, but have and like a lot the latter although wish it was slightly less sweet and a bit dirtier. I've been hoping that, as they're both Jean-Claude Ellena's takes on amber, they'd have something in common and possibly L'eau D'ambre would give me what the other ones doesn't have!

Great list. haute voltige and coeur de vetiver sacrée are two that I really like (the latter is discontinued for a while unfortunately). if you want a more playful spring scent, you can check out mon numéro 9

The only thing I know from this house is Bana Banana, I got a sample. Well, it's creamy, dry-fruity, musc, sweeter, more feminin leaning. You really do get the dry bananas (the ugly looking ones you can buy) after a while. I think I need to check your favs to get to know the house more.

Loving the house just own 4 fragrances ... L eua Ambre: powdery, subdue , relaxing , transparent not much projection more like personal skin scent really dry and good smell. Saffron troubulant: love it rose with saffron almost kind of baccarat rouge but little bit sweet transparent not super strong not to complex Noir exquis: sweet chocolate with cherry same time transparent personal airy but not cloying good intimate fragrance. Batucada: salty , fruit , tropical sweaty , cocktail , little bit animalic love it perfect summer scent . If you like Mon numero 10 I think is like a bad copy for me for the underrated maybe discontinue from Ropion kenzo jungle l Elephant women that fragrance is kind of similar but the kenzo one smells so niche so good like being in India smelling all spices , vanilla strong bold . If you try arroz con leche smells like that cinnamon prefer kenzo over mon 10
