I have an 8 month old and I related so hard to this video. So many videos on youtube about this topic are either overly dramatic, or gloss over a lot of stuff. This one is super realistic. One thing that made nursing at night way easier was side lying nursing. Basically you and your baby are lying on your sides facing each other. It's both me and my baby's favorite nursing position. As a mom, you get to be so lazy during it. 😁

Sids is very often linked to reactions to vaccinations (most cases happen within 72hrs of shots) and smoking in home. Tongue tied babies are also more at risk because their airway is compromised- sadly, these are the babies where moms end up quitting breastfeeding early due to latch/pain/supply issues and breastfeeding is the best prevention for them. Ties are more common now due to a wide range of reasons. Baby in the bed and in room with mom is actually safer and prevents Sid’s. Also, look up the success/improvement rates in Japan from just increasing breastfeeding, moving vaccinations to when baby is older, and less smoking as a country. Hope this helps! We had the owelet sock too but once I was more educated on SIDS we ended up giving it to a friend who wanted that peace of mind.

YES to asking for your epidural right away!!!! Our hospital’s policy is to receive a full bag of fluid prior to the epidural as well! It feels like forever to wait 😫

Couldn't wait for this video! One thing you didn't mention to help prepare you for labor and delivery that you might take for granted bc it's just part of your lifestyle is exercise and good diet during pregnancy. I know I'm giving myself credit for that and was so nice to watch you do the same. 🙌

A common side effect of epidurals is a drop in blood pressure so the bag of fluids is to help prevent that! They won’t give you an epidural until you’re officially admitted. I hate to wait a lot longer with my first because it took three hours in triage to actually get admitted. 🤪
