I wore this in the 90s when this fragrance was first introduced. I bought myself a bottle last year because I missed it. It’s a great everyday fragrance.

It’s a summer fragrance without being too citrus, fruity or sunscreen like. I can’t think of anything that’s similar. It’s elegant and lasts all day. For me it’s a must have.

I will have to revisit this perfume, I havent tried it in a long time. Love that it has good longevity, and the tuberose with the lily of the valley are so feminine. It would be a good bridal perfume! I love your blouse it depicts this perfume perfectly!!!

i am invariably inspired to immediately purchase the perfumes you review and have, so far, bought Anäis Anäis, Chanel No. 22, and quite possibly i shall add L'eau D'Issey to my collection. Thank you for the honest, straightforward, informative, perfume reviews..(at some point, i hope you will be sponsored by certain perfume houses because you certainly deserve it)!

This takes you on a weird journey. It opens w/ a bright, juicy yuzu lemon. As you're enjoying it you're suddenly interrupted by the rude yet brief stench of feces which transforms into Ylang-ylang. Then it takes you to a garden of dead flowers. No joke. Keep an open mind. This is a 90's frag, hence, goth-y & morbid. Next, you're at a funeral parlor. The scent of funeral flowers is everywhere. Finally, you're deposited in a breezy field of ripe melons ready for harvest. What's surprising is how smooth the transitions are. Who knew the smell of melons & funeral flowers are so similar? Well turns out it is. No wonder this frag gained a cult following of pretentious 90's artsy hipsters. Set aside the admittedly off-putting fascination w/ death & decay, it's clear its perfumer Jacques Cavallier possesed a god-like mastery of perfumery. I think its haters back in the day simply didn't know what to make of it. They were expecting a straightforward freshie & got more than they bargained for. For the same reason people today wouldn't understand this. Personally I don't think it's wearable. I think it's more a piece of olfactory art meant to be admired and analyzed from afar more than something to be worn.
